Tshepo Dro A Thodu Ma Khyee. Homage to the supreme city of the all-pervading, primordial protector, the play of wisdom's illusion, with unwavering faith. Now, in these times of the flourishing five degenerations, beings are unruly, and due to the power of negative karma, they cling to this dreamlike, fleeting life, making long-term plans, and abandoning concern for the next life. Therefore, those who seek liberation and the state of omniscience are as rare as stars in the daytime. Even if they remember death and are willing to practice Dharma, they spend their lives merely on verbal virtuous deeds, seeking the state of gods and humans in the heavens. Others, without understanding even a little of the view of emptiness, decide that their own mind is empty, identify conceptual thoughts or uncreated awareness as the nature of mind, and remain in that state without doing anything, which only leads to rebirth in the desire and form realms, not even a hair's breadth close to the path of omniscience. Therefore, having accumulated vast merit from countless eons ago, connected by good aspirations, and having established a connection with the profound Dharma, if there is even a little fortune left for such individuals, I will teach this Dharma. Those who have no connection with me and are not qualified to practice the Great Perfection, rather than slandering this teaching, should flee to the Blo Drog Monastery. On the contrary, those individuals who share the same fortune as me, please look at this instruction, and through examination, study, and familiarity, recognize the great emptiness of samsara and nirvana, and thus realize it naturally. Here, the Natural Great Perfection is divided into three

That which is called "I" is: in the various times of daytime appearances, dream appearances, the intermediate state, and future lives TI1398-117 Merely the appearance of "having a self" is called the "self of a person." Immediately thereafter, the latent consciousness that grasps at "I" is called "later consciousness" or "discrimination," which clarifies, stabilizes, and solidifies it. Therefore, one should investigate the source from which the word "I" first arose, tracing it back to the ground where there is no source. When searching for the place where it dwells in the middle, one should examine whether the place and the dweller, which are called "I," can be identified as having their own characteristics. The head is called the head, it is not I. Likewise, the scalp is called skin, it is not I. The bone is called bone, it is not I. Similarly, the eye is not I, the ear is not I, the nose is not I. The tongue is not I, the teeth are not I, the brain is not I. Through the respective names of flesh, blood, pus, veins, and tendons, it is known that they are not I. Also, the hand is not the hand, it is not I. The shoulder is also not I. The arm is not I, the forearm is not I, the fingers are also not I. Also, the vertebrae are not the vertebrae, they are not I. The ribs are not I, the chest is not I, the lungs are not I, the heart is not I, the liver bed is not I, the liver and spleen are not I, the intestines and kidneys are not I, urine and feces are not I. Also, the foot does not have the name of I, the thigh is called the thigh, not I. The hip is also not I, the shin is not I, the ankle is not I, the toes are also not I. In short, the outer skin is not I, the middle flesh and fat are called flesh and fat, not I. The inner bone is called bone, not I. The secret foot is also called foot, not I. The discriminating consciousness is also not I. Therefore, it can be determined that the place where it dwells in the middle is emptiness, without a place and without an owner. Likewise, one should determine that the final destination and the owner have transcended everything. In reality, appearing to exist when it does not is like a cataract. The naming of these names is like speaking of a rabbit's horn. Second, in order to ascertain the selflessness of phenomena, one must search for the basis of the name, destroy the reality of things, and attack the weaknesses of benefit and harm.
