Without striving through effort, but naturally, the stains of afflictions and knowledge are purified in the Dharmadhatu, and one becomes enlightened through the increase of qualities. In such a way, in the vast expanse of great emptiness, all appearances of samsara and nirvana appear as coming and going, hence they are called Dakinis. All the various appearances of conventional names and signs are aspects of skillful means, designated as provisional meanings. The definitive meaning is the aspect of wisdom, within the inner realm, where all qualities are spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. This is an intermediate verse summarizing the essential points. Thirdly, regarding the way of the vehicle of such realization, there are three ways in which the distinctions of qualities are perfected: the way in which the aspects of the ultimate ritual are perfected, the way in which the greatness of the name and meaning of the vehicle itself is perfected, and the way in which other past and future vehicles are perfected as ways of increasing qualities. Firstly, there are two ways in which the aspects of the ultimate ritual are perfected: the actual way in which they are perfected, and the necessity of showing the generation stage of the conventional means. Firstly, the actual way in which they are perfected is as follows: Thus, the Dharmakaya Tathagatagarbha of the ground, the very manifestation of the great essence that pervades all of samsara and nirvana, is the great all-liberating awareness. In this, all ultimate practices are gathered. Transforming such awareness into the essence of the union of the Three Jewels is the unsurpassed refuge of the meaning of reality. From beginningless lifetimes, having grasped oneself as true and being manifestly attached to objects, the mind has become very narrow. Now, having decided that samsara and nirvana are the play of one awareness and expanding the mind, this is the most sacred of all bodhicittas. Likewise, the mind of grasping and being grasped is the great demon of existence wandering in the three realms of samsara. Expelling it into objectless emptiness with the wisdom of individual discrimination, and manifesting the wisdom of realizing selflessness, is the indestructible fortress of bodhicitta. Pouring down the great blessing of awareness and wisdom into the darkness of ignorance is the pouring of blessings, and realizing the state in which appearances dawn as the ornaments of awareness is also the arrangement of spontaneously arising desirable qualities. Transforming the alaya into the Dharmakaya is the primordial Buddha of the ground, its reality.
