The Rākṣasa of outer self-grasping appears as such, and its antidote is to purify the appearances into pure lands. The Rākṣasa of inner self-grasping is clinging to one's own dwelling, possessions, and even body as "I." Its antidote is to visualize the palace and the deity. The latent consciousness that constantly and continuously appears as "I" at all times and in all ways is the Rākṣasa of secret self-grasping. It is the bond of all appearances and minds in saṃsāra, and its antidote is to firmly maintain the pride of being the deity. In the conventional truth, in the land of the Rākṣasas, Laṅkāpurī (Sri Lanka), a prostitute named Kuntugyü ("Wandering Everywhere") had a son born from the union of gods, demons, and non-humans. This cruel being, called Mātraṃ Rākṣasa, had three heads, six arms, four legs, and two wings. As soon as he was born, he ate his mother. After forty-nine days, he grew up and ruled the desire realm. He killed every man he saw and had intercourse with every woman he saw, and he set out to destroy the teachings of the Buddha. All the victorious ones consulted and gathered the activities of all the Sugatas of the three times into one, and manifested as the forms of Hayagrīva and Vajravārāhī, father and mother, and subdued him. Some also believe that he was subdued by Mahāheruka, which seems to be two different views. But ultimately, the basis The Sugatagarbha itself is the source of all saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, and it is established as the mother. The son, the Rākṣasa of self-grasping, arises from the conditions of the three poisons of ignorance, appearing and clinging to "I." Saying that he eats the flesh of his mother means that he obscures the self-face of the basis. The three heads represent the three poisons, the six arms represent the five poisons and stinginess, the four legs represent the four birth places, and the two wings represent the grasping of subject and object. Saying that he rules the desire realm means that he wanders unhindered in the three realms of saṃsāra. Finally, saying that he is subdued by the Great Glorious One means that when the wisdom of the non-conceptual nature of reality manifests as the form of the luminous Great Glorious One, ignorance is subdued without a place to be found. In short, since all appearances, beings, and saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are the appearances of one individual, when a yogi's wind-mind enters the central channel, the outer signs will also appear as the sun and moon being swallowed by Rāhu at the same time, the six types of earthquakes, the five types of sounds, and the abode of light.
