It is mistaken to perceive the manifestations of the three demonic forces, the cruel forms of demons and evil spirits, and even the proud assembly of Dharma protectors, as being other than oneself. Those who have a slight understanding and realization of rigpa know and realize that the cruel three demonic forces, along with their retinue of illusions, are merely manifestations of one's own three poisons and have no inherent existence. They also know that Dharma protectors and vidyadharas are none other than the manifestation of rigpa. By seeing the state of completion of the ground of practice within oneself, they do not mistake it for something other. Merely upon attaining the eighth bhumi, one obtains the extraordinary qualities of the transformation of the senses. Impure appearances cease naturally, and all appearances of objects are seen as pure lands, and all appearances of forms are seen as the nature of bodhisattva mind. Thus, after gaining mastery over the three pure realms, the appearances of the qualities of the transformation of the alaya consciousness and the eight consciousnesses into wisdom are extraordinary. At the end of the continuum of the ten bhumis, the subtle obscurations of habitual tendencies are destroyed by a samadhi like a vajra, and one attains buddhahood in the eleventh bhumi, the All-Illuminating One. Then, the manifestation of the qualities of buddhahood in the twelfth bhumi, the Immaculate Lotus One, and the thirteenth bhumi, Vajradhara, and so forth, is what is referred to as the ground of buddhahood. Furthermore, the arrangement of fields and pure lands, and the appearance of being adorned with the body, marks, and signs of a buddha, and the demonstration of being present in the manner of distinct teacher and retinue, is the path of skillful means. To explain it in a little more detail, from the manifestation of ignorance arise the assemblies of nagas, demons, and earth lords; from the manifestation of hatred arise the assemblies of male demons and kings; from the manifestation of desire arise the assemblies of female demons and ogresses; and from the manifestation of the eighty-four thousand afflictions arise eighteen chief demons, fifteen child demons, five hundred ogresses who steal life-force, and so on, as the permanently abiding old demons, and the suddenly arriving forms of minor demons that spread. Similarly, for Dharma protectors, the nature of alaya ignorance is the Great Powerful One; the clear and luminous aspect of the alaya consciousness is the assembly of the Mother Tantra lineage; the eight consciousnesses and eight classes of beings; the afflictive mind Rahu; and the mind-harming yakshas, and so on, are said to arise as the play of the main deity and retinue, which is the door of skillful means.

It is merely a nominal designation, and not the self-existence as accepted by the Svatantrika school. Therefore, the establishment based on the proof that exists in the object to be proven also arises from this key point. Bodhisattvas also do not inherently exist in their own right; it is merely a designation, and there is no contradiction between the two. For example, the name "Manjushri" is because its essence is the Tathagatagarbha, free from all the coarseness of afflictions, hence "Manju"; because it possesses the glory of spontaneously accomplished Dharmakaya and wisdom, hence "Shri"; because it possesses sixty branches of melodious sound, hence it is called "Voice." Similarly, for Avalokiteshvara, it is because he has realized the wisdom of omniscience, hence "Eye"; because of the great all-seeing wisdom that is impartial and unbiased, without attachment or obstruction, clearly knowing all dharmas without confusion, hence "Seer." Similarly, Mahasthamaprapta is called such because he has the power to liberate all impure appearances and consciousness into the pure realm. These are in terms of ultimate truth. To say that these exist elsewhere is the path of conventional means. In short, the self-arisen great wisdom of the Buddhas who have realized the primordial Dharmakaya is divided into fragments and merely embellished as a path of skillful means. In terms of ultimate truth, knowing the state and reality of the base itself, ultimately vowing in one's own nature, and not deviating from that state of realization is the profound practice of meaning. All practices and mandalas are gathered and perfected here. Now, to replace these, before contemplating the supporting pure land and the supported deities, one must first destroy the impure karmic aeons into the expanse of reality, and then visualize the appearance of pure wisdom deities. For example, the appearance of a dream and the appearance of daytime do not occur at the same time. Similarly, the appearance of the human realm and the place of hell cannot exist simultaneously. Therefore, the impure appearance of samsara and the pure land of wisdom deities cannot be established at the same time. First, all external appearances of the outer world, the internal moving sentient beings, and the intermediate objects of the five desires, etc., should be visualized as dissolving into the expanse of reality like a magical illusion, dissolving into the nature of emptiness of Dharmata. In the expanse of emptiness, the state of suchness of Dharmata is manifested.
