Five types of individuals are like seeds, one should know the distinctions of what to accept and reject. Then, gradually receive empowerment and enter the tantra of means. First, with the wisdom of listening, generate hearing in the lineage of words. Then, with the wisdom of contemplation, learn the connection between words and meaning. Then, with the mental skill of meditation, first learn the generation stage. Then, bring the perfection stage to its ultimate conclusion. Like overturning a vessel, and like something poisonous, abandon faults and abide in a state of decline, just as water and fertilizer create fruit through conditions. Thus, it is said that before meditating on the path, one must cut off the superimpositions of listening and thinking on the meaning to be practiced. The great accomplished one, Mituk Dawa, said in 'A Garland of Kumutī': 'Without a teacher, there is no listening; without listening, there is no contemplation; without both, there is no path of yoga; without yoga, there is no accomplishment.' And so on, endlessly. Therefore, one should begin with the Pāramitās and gradually learn. If one does not learn in this way, there will be many faults, such as saying that the Pāramitās contradict the Secret Mantra, not understanding the profound differences of the Unsurpassed, and being obstructed by doubt. Therefore, it is essential to first cut off the superimpositions of listening and thinking. Second, there are five points to explain in detail the methods of cutting off superimpositions: The nature, divisions, etymology, definite number, and individual methods of meditation for the generation and completion stages. As stated in the Compendium of Trainings, what is the meaning of 'birth' and so on? The two, birth and death, of sentient beings, through the kindness of the guru, are introduced as the generation and completion stages to be tamed. The benefit gained from this is praised as a special means to attain Buddhahood in the future. Some say that the generation stage is conceptual thought, so one should only meditate on the emptiness of the completion stage. This is not understanding the key point, not understanding the meaning of the scriptures that praise each tradition. Both the generation and completion stages are necessary, and all means and wisdom that are inseparable are very important. Viewing all defiled and purified dharmas as illusory, inseparable from this view. Effortlessly abandoning afflictions, abandoning pride in virtue, and so on, liberating from grasping at reality, being of one nature like illusion, inseparable from this, therefore it is called Vajrayana. Yeshe Zhap (Jñāna pāda) clearly stated that the meaning of ordinary thoughts, conceptualizations, etc., the generation stage, and the root of samsara, the grasping at self, are contradictory. The way they contradict is that their forms are contradictory, they are profound clarity inseparable. It is not the same as limitless space, etc., because that does not involve selflessness.

In short, by focusing the target on the deity (藏文:ལྷ་,梵文天城体:देव,梵文罗马拟音:deva,汉语字面意思:天), and with a mind that engages in the meaning of selflessness, forms appear as the dependent and the depended upon. If this key point is not understood, it is like the Brahmin boy with black veins mentioned in the 'Root Tantra of Manjushri'. In the stage of completion stage, all appearances of the generation stage are meditated upon as the mandala of the deity, sealed with emptiness, and the deity's form is meditated upon as being like an illusion. However, because there is no realization of the wheel of the mandala that arises from the power of striking the three points of the channels, drops, and winds as in the completion stage, please refer to the words of Aryadeva. During the practice of the object of purification, where does the mind itself arise? It arises from the nature of the three emptinesses. In the Samdhinirmocana Sutra, the meaning of the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, etc., is that even the lower tantras cannot accomplish the thirteen Vajradharas without striking the three points of the channels, drops, and winds of the body. At the time of death, the wind dissolves into space. Striking the body during the practice of the object of purification is present in both the generation and completion stages, and it is done gradually through the outer generation stage. The inner generation stage strikes directly. Meditating on the channels and drops of the six chakras as deities is Vajrakaruna, and it is said that the five chakras are struck with original clarity. The oral instruction of Virupa, the four mudras. The fourth is the wave. The following stable, clear essence, like gold-transforming elixir, touches the body of the iron-like yogi, transforming into a rainbow like Prasena descending. Incidentally, regarding whether the deity one meditates on is the actual deity, the masters of our tradition maintain that one should meditate on it as the actual deity. Some debaters say, 'If beings are all accomplished as Chakrasamvara, then it is contradictory that Chakrasamvara himself does not know that his body has been accomplished as a mandala,' and so on. Answer: Heruka, etc., are explained as being the basis in the three aspects of ground, path, and fruit. Although complete abandonment and realization are not actually present now, Je Tsongkhapa said that if the conditions are met, the fruit can still arise. The continuum of cause, the inseparability of method and wisdom, is that grasping at objects and the appearance of various graspers are the method, which is samsara; and at the same time, its essence is free from all elaborations, which is nirvana. The inseparability of these two is the continuum of cause. Striking the body in the practice of the object of purification in the completion stage is the path of the three higher empowerments of Anuttarayoga Tantra. The heat that arises from meditating on the two stages is the special power of body, speech, and mind. The signs are the appearance of five stages in the case of smoke, etc.
