Slaughtered flesh should not be used for Torma (offering). It should be done after all the offerings, or at least after the last offering. Monthly, yearly, etc., should be considered special times. Monthly, according to the special time, on the twenty-ninth, or in more cases, on the nineteenth, eighteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, and the empty sky day. Yearly, it should be done on the twenty-ninth of the first month of spring. The guests of the Torma are Vajrabhairava (Frightful Vajra) and the guardians of the directions. The non-human beings residing in that place are also included among the spirits of the Torma guests. It is said in the Vajra Heart Commentary that Torma should be offered to those residing masters. It is not allowed to hold the Torma in hand for purification or interruption, etc. No matter what activity is accomplished, Torma is crucial. No matter what worldly or transcendental siddhi (accomplishment) is achieved, ordinary attachment and aversion are great obstacles and obscurations.
