Subduing (མུག་སྦྱོང་།) The gods are all subdued, subduing pride and arrogance. The nine dances appear in sequence, subduing the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion. Sixth, the method of subduing the five poisons with colors and shapes: White subdues ignorance, yellow subdues pride and stinginess, blue subdues hatred, red subdues desire, and green subdues jealousy. All facial colors and so on should correspond accordingly. Regarding implements: the wheel subdues ignorance, the vajra subdues hatred, the jewel subdues pride, the lotus subdues desire, and the crossed vajra and sword subdue jealousy. The afflictions subdued correspond to their respective wisdoms. Seventh, the method of subduing the two extremes with hand and foot gestures: Extending the right hand symbolizes benefiting sentient beings with compassion; retracting it symbolizes possessing great compassion oneself. Extending the left hand symbolizes the all-pervading emptiness of dharmata; crossing the hands at the chest and sitting in the lotus position symbolize union, thereby subduing the two extremes. Thus, properly combine the object to be subdued and the method of subduing, clearly visualize the basis and form of pride, abandon the fault of distraction, and meditate with single-pointed concentration, and you will quickly accomplish the benefit of yourself and others. This is the instruction given in brief words. The Noble One (འཕགས་པ་རིན་པོ་ཆེས།) said: 'The Dharma spoken by the Buddhas is as countless as the dispositions of sentient beings, among which the Great Vehicle is particularly supreme, its essence being the Vajra Vehicle. Among all the oceans of secret mantras, that which easily accomplishes all activities, and in wrathful activities that subdues the wicked, Yamantaka (གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད་པོ།) is praised. Its methods are immeasurable, among which the yoga of Hayagriva is said in the scriptures to be particularly supreme, and its reason is also evident.' As it is said, for a yogi, that which interrupts life is the external demon—the Lord of Death, Yama. Therefore, to subdue him, the Bhagavan Vajrabhairava manifests in various forms of extreme wrath, and one subdues him by meditating on this form. Furthermore, that which interrupts liberation and omniscience is ignorance, which is said to reside in the center of the hearts of sentient beings. Therefore, the antidote to it is the essence of the wisdom of all the Buddhas—the venerable Manjushri, who is meditated upon as a wisdom being in the center of the heart, which is particularly superior to other methods for uprooting ignorance. Yoga of Non-Equanimity Second, the yoga of non-equanimity has six aspects: the yoga of recitation, the yoga of conduct, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yoga of walking, yoga of sleeping, yoga of rising, yoga of offering torma. Yoga of recitation. Firstly, there are three parts: preliminary purification and mindfulness, the actual yoga of recitation, and the incidental gathering of the mandala. Firstly, since Vajrabhairava is more extensive than this, purification is not explicitly stated in most sadhanas. However, purification is absolutely necessary for supreme accomplishment. Therefore, mindfulness of the purification as explained in the Sūtra of So-na-shrī, and the one composed by Tathāgatarakṣita, are mostly similar to it. In some verses of Lalita's praise, it also appears that the ninth, 'holding the iron hook of attraction,' etc., are combined with purification. In Rwa's translation, the iron hook, etc., in the hand of the ninth deity are also clearly visible. If one wishes to know about the purification that appears in the commentary on Akshobhya's precepts, and the purification through hidden meanings in the Vajrahṛdaya commentary, one should consult those texts. In the Sadhana of the Forty-Nine Deities by the master Lalita-vajra, it is said: 'For the sake of the ultimate meaning, completely pure. Time is the form of the great hero, the eight faces are the sum of the hours. The hands and horns are the moon, half the moon is also completely pure. The sixteen mounts are time and the moon and the days. The faces are the nine planets, the hands are associated with the constellations. The feet are the twelve transmutations, and the four times are also the same. The weapons are emptiness, compassion is sixteen and two. The elephant skin is a great obstacle, the wrathful form is great suffering, it is the lord who dispels suffering. The color black is great compassion, the skull ornament is immutable. All the deities of the mandala are pure, their nature is the time of arising. The three mantras are the three pure bodies, the names of the deities themselves are, first Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪特) at the end. The time of drinking the skull is pure, the mandala is the direction of enlightenment. The mount is Sarisindi, the color is like the Tathagata, all purity is known. This is a little purification, which is extensively explained by Manjushri Runa.' This should be recited before the recitation and its meaning should be remembered. Or it should be recited during the breaks between sessions and its meaning should be remembered. To briefly explain the meaning of these words: time is completely pure, which is the body of the Bhagavan. It has the same meaning as 'the three times, no time, the wheel of time of realization.' Eight hours and the sum of the hours are nine faces. Ten months and twenty-four and a half months, thirty-six are the thirty-four hands and two horns, which are thirty-six. The sixteen mounts are the times of the waxing and waning moons and the sixteen days. The nine planets are the sun and the seven planets. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
