'The great powerful lord of the outer realms (Tibetan: ཕྱི་རོལ་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེན་པོ་), Hevajra Khasarpaṇi (Tibetan: བདེ་མཆོག་ཁར་ས་པ་ནི་), etc., will lead beings to be tamed in the place where self-arisen images exist.' Thus it was said. Then, upon arriving in Nepal, Paṇchen (Tibetan: པཎ་ཆུང་), the king (Tibetan: རྒྱལ་པོ་), and the Brahmins (Tibetan: བྷ་རོ་) requested empowerment and tantras. In Mangyul (Tibetan: མང་ཡུལ་) and Purang-Tö (Tibetan: སྤུ་རངས་བསྟོད་), the former disciples invited him, and merit was accumulated. I, the Well-Intentioned (Tibetan: བདག་བསམ་པ་བཟང་པས), at the same time as the opening of thirteen gold mines including Jambuvo (Tibetan: འཛམ་བུ་བོ་) and Gulang (Tibetan: གུ་ལང་), received hundreds and thousands of gold coins for each empowerment and generation stage. In Lato Lho-Jang (Tibetan: ལ་སྟོད་ལྷོ་བྱང་), Trade Time (Tibetan: ཚོང་དུས་), and the three Inner Khong regions (Tibetan: ནང་ཁོང་རྒྱུད་གསུམ་), and as far as Nyemo (Tibetan: གཉེ་མོའི་), going to the places of invitation, countless possessions such as golden books (Tibetan: གསེར་གྱི་གླེགས་བམ་), horses, gold and turquoise (Tibetan: གསེར་གཡུ་), and silks (Tibetan: དར་ཟབ་) were obtained. Thinking that it was now necessary to go to India, he took five hundred and six hundred gold coins (Tibetan: གསེར་སྲང་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ཕྲག་དྲུག་) and five hundred servants (Tibetan: བླ་བ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་) and went to Bodh Gaya (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་གདན་), requesting to make offerings to the king, which was granted. With one hundred and ten gold coins (Tibetan: གསེར་སྲང་བརྒྱ་བཅུ་), a great festival was held at Bodh Gaya for ten days. A great rain of flowers fell from the sky, and wonders such as light and sound, the transformation of Ḍākinīs (Tibetan: ཌ་ཀི་མ་), and the offering of gods and goddesses occurred. The king, lamas, paṇḍitas of Bodh Gaya, and all patrons, with great joy, said, 'Mahābodhi Pūjā, Mahāphala Phala (Tibetan: མཧཱ་བྷོ་ཏིའི་པུ་ཙ་མཧཱ་ཕ་ལ་ཕ་ལ།),' and were very pleased. Then, to the lamas of Bodh Gaya and the wisdom Ḍākinīs (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཌ་ཀི་ནི་) Guma (Tibetan: གུ་མ་) and Sukamasiti (Tibetan: སུ་ཀ་མ་སི་ཏི་), as well as one hundred and fifty lamas including the three Vajra brothers, much gold was offered, and many Gaṇacakras (Tibetan: ཚོགས་ཀྱི་པུ་ཙ་) were performed. Some lamas gave many essential instructions. Some lamas gave many instructions born from their hearts. Some lamas made many prophecies. Although Lama Maitrīpa (Tibetan: མཻ་ཏྲི་པ་) was not present, much gold was offered to the Yoginī (Tibetan: ཇོ་མོ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཌ་ཀི་མ་) Gaṅgādhara (Tibetan: གངྒཱ་དྷ་ར་), and many instructions were requested. Then, before returning to Tibet, on the tenth day, a hundred Gaṇacakras were offered at Bodh Gaya, and together with the translator Lhan Dharma Lodrö (Tibetan: ལོ་ཙྪ་བ་གླན་དར་མ་བློ་གྲོས་) and Ghayadhara (Tibetan: གྷ་ཡ་དྷ་ར་), they came to Tholing Monastery (Tibetan: མཐོ་ལྡིང་གི་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་). Finding that the letters of some Chinese scriptures (Tibetan: རྒྱ་དཔེ་) were damaged, just as he was thinking of returning to India again, at the same time as Paṇḍita Dīpaṃkaraśrījñāna (Tibetan: པཎྜི་ཏ་ཏི་པཾ་ཀ་ར་ཤྲཱི་ཛྙཱ་ན་) was present, he said, 'My Chinese scriptures are the same as this, it is enough to have Rinchen Zangpo (Tibetan: རིན་ཆེན་བཟང་པོ་) translate them.' So, with the translator Rinchen Zangpo (Tibetan: ལོ་ཙྪ་བ་རིན་ཆེན་བཟང་པོ་) and Lhan (Tibetan: གླན་) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Translated by Dharma Lodrö. Then, Jowo Dipaṃkara (Lord Atiśa) was asked to generate Bodhicitta and receive the empowerment of Guhyasamāja, as well as Kṛṣṇayamāri, Abhisamayālaṃkāra, Ratnagotravibhāga, and many other instructions. Upon returning to his homeland, Jochun Khyungo of Gomo and Ngultsun Trangpo established a Dharma wheel. When the Dharma was being taught, they said, 'Let's go to Lhasa.' So they took a golden umbrella and went. On the evening of the thirteenth, they raised the golden umbrella, lit butter lamps, and arranged offerings. The three of us prayed together and then shared our dreams. I heard Jowo's voice saying, 'You are a great Śrāvaka with great miraculous powers from the north in the past. Your past karma has awakened. Practice the teachings diligently and go to India. Now the nature of reality has manifested. Tame and ripen the beings of the snowy land, and then you will go to Sukhāvatī.' Thus he prophesied. Then, when asked about their dreams, Khyungo said, 'In my dream, in the mountain pass of two bows, there was a drum being beaten. I dreamed that both bows gathered in front of me.' Just as he said, he gained the reputation of 'Abbot Elder'. Ngultsun said, 'I dreamed that I was sitting on a pile of barley, and everyone was taking barley from me.' As a result, he obtained the fruit of 'wealthy for generations'. Then, after taking the full ordination from Langri Tangpa Chenpo, while practicing on Jowo Mountain in Phan Yul, he did not bring any food. Lama Maitrīpa said, 'When you practice, the protectors will send food.' Expecting the protectors to send food, but they did not, to the point that the regular offerings to the protectors were interrupted. In the evening, he went to the entrance of the cave and recited: 'Kṣetrapāla (Guardian of the field), Jinamitra (Victorious friend), Trakīrarāca (Firm armor), Trakṣadma (Bright light), I have no food, and the regular offerings to the protectors have been interrupted.' He cried out loudly, and the next morning, a group of Khampa offering carriers came from the market, offering silver coins, horses, silk, tea, meat, butter, and molasses, and many other rich provisions. For half a month, he requested many Bodhicitta and empowerments, so many that the monks could not fit. A monastery was built at the mouth of Jowo Chakha, gathering about two thousand disciples. At that time, he would do retreats in the latter half of the month and give teachings in the first half of the month, explaining scriptures and instructions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
