When Maitripa was residing in the southern Light Garden, I requested from him the five tantras including the 'Mahamudra Non-Abiding', as well as the 'Doha', 'Mahamudra Pure Wisdom', and the 'Three Kayas Taking to the Path', among many other pith instructions. I also requested many sadhanas of tantras such as 'Hevajra' and 'Namasangiti'. Later, when Maitripa was residing in the charnel ground of Kosala Bhiksha, I offered seven gold coins and said, 'Because the resources in Tibet are meager, please bestow a practice for accomplishing wealth quickly with great signs.' Maitripa said, 'It can also be called the Wish-Fulfilling Protector, it can also be called the Wood Pile Protector, it can also be called the Sandalwood Protector, it can also be called the Great Compassionate Black Protector, it can also be called the Six-Armed Wisdom Protector.' 'First, it protects from the fears of the bardo; it subdues the three: gods, demons, and humans; it effortlessly brings forth the three: people, wealth, and food; it destroys all enemies; it prevents turning back and internal harm; all supreme and common attainments are accomplished within months; by accomplishing the supreme, the common arises incidentally; by accomplishing the common, the supreme arises incidentally.' He said, 'I will bestow that.' I asked, 'From whom should I request it?' He said, 'In the past, in the presence of Buddha Amitabha, with great bodhicitta, he generated the mind of enlightenment, vowing:' 'Until this great ocean of samsara is emptied, may I not attain Buddhahood. If that mind of enlightenment should decline, may my head shatter into a thousand pieces.' 'Then, for six periods of the day and night on Mount Potala, he would engage in benefiting sentient beings by looking at them with wisdom, acting according to what each needed to be tamed. After that, having worked for the benefit of sentient beings for countless years, thinking that many sentient beings had been liberated, he looked down from Potala and saw that the realms of sentient beings had not decreased but had instead become more degenerate, with coarse afflictions and great laziness. Thinking, 'Now I am unable to liberate even a few sentient beings,' he abandoned the mind of enlightenment, and his head shattered into a thousand pieces.' 'Then, Buddhas such as Amitabha from the ten directions came and said, 'Son of good family, it is very bad to abandon such a mind of enlightenment. For its confession, recite one that is even greater than that mind of enlightenment.' Then they blessed the head that had shattered into a thousand pieces into eleven faces. From then on, there was no mind of enlightenment greater than the previous one, and not even a fraction of it could be done, so there was no method greater than it.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thinking, 'Now is the degenerate age, sentient beings have short lives, many obstacles, and everything goes according to karma. They have little enjoyment and poor living, no time to practice, and are completely controlled by obstacles. They do not keep their vows, engage in wrongdoings and internal strife.' He observed that even most practitioners cannot escape the fears of the bardo. Therefore, in order to be able to quickly see the face of the deity, to be liberated from the fears of this life and the next by merely praying, without needing long practice, to effortlessly obtain the three resources of people, wealth, and food, to instantly destroy all obstructing demons, to quickly accomplish all common and supreme siddhis, he decided to manifest as a wrathful king-like deity to benefit sentient beings. Then, from his heart, a dark blue 'Hūṃ' (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) syllable emerged, transforming into the six-armed Wisdom Protector, like a wish-fulfilling jewel that fulfills all the desires of sentient beings. At that moment, the earth shook in six ways. Then, countless Buddhas, led by Amitābha, unanimously praised: 'Noble son, this action of fulfilling the wishes of sentient beings is truly excellent! Bhagavan Yamāntaka, born from the secret of the minds of all Buddhas, may you possess the power and ability to accomplish activities! May you, the nature of the Secret Ḍākinī, possess power! May you also accomplish peaceful and increasing activities!' With the blessings of the Buddhas, the Yakṣas, Yamas, Rākṣasas, Māras, and Mātṛkas who arise from the emanation will accomplish various activities. By practicing, offering, and remembering him properly, all desired accomplishments will be granted. Even without practice, blessings will be received, and he will personally show his face.' It is said that there was a尊者 named Śavaripa, born into a Brahmin family, living near the auspicious Dhānyakaṭaka, in the center of thirty-two great cities called Tripāla, an artist skilled in music. In the past, he had pleased the Buddhas with music and dance. Now, he was practicing in a thatched hut in the Śītavana Mahāśmāśāna. When he heard the great sound of the ḍamaru drum and bell ringing in the sky, the Wisdom Protector appeared and said: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
