These are the verses composed to express the power. Auspicious source, precious lamp of the doctrine, known as the seventh of the thousand Buddhas of the fortunate eon. On the vast earth, unparalleled Shakya, I prostrate at your feet. For the sake of benefiting many beings, for the sake of the good establishment of the doctrine of the Sugata, I pray that in this land of snow, through thousands of efforts, the thought of inviting the Dharma King may be accomplished. When I am in my own country, even if there are thousands of important things for myself and others, I will abandon them. I will enter into the terrible place of life, body, and possessions, and I pray to the Three Jewels to know and accomplish the purpose. Although I have the thought of composing this, due to the circumstances of time and place, I do not have the power to compose. Alas, if I compose meaninglessly, will it not become the laughter of the people on earth? Initially, I did not compose or think about this matter, and for the people who gathered elsewhere, it does not matter whether my fame is well-known or not. Now, how can I break the bow like Yi the Archer? From eleven years ago, I have been constantly praying with longing and single-mindedness, waiting for this one with eagerness and hope. How do the gods and nagas who love the doctrine think? Therefore, may the people of the north and my efforts, and the compassion of yourself, fulfill the hope in my mind for the Dharma, and may immeasurable benefit and happiness spread in all directions. May the unbearable oppression of the enemy in the past, and the efforts I have made to save many suffering beings, become the cause for liberating political prisoners. On the journey, without distinguishing the time, with enthusiasm, and with auspicious and happy words leading the way, with diligence and affection without fault, may this truth also accomplish this matter. On that path, the white horse strides steadily, carrying the burden of the fruit of union, and initially met eighteen young men. May this auspicious sign be a true omen. The dreams of Darkhang, Nyatsa, and Gasum, and the signs of Pagri, Pagsum, and Gya, Shangku, etc., whatever signs are seen at the crucial moment, if true, may the fruit of truth be accomplished here. On that path, from the journey to India, sometimes I am afflicted by the strong cold wind, sometimes I am immersed in the blizzard, and sometimes I walk through the terrifying cliffs. Similarly, in other places, I am scorched by the sunlight, and in other places, I fall into the promised mud, etc. May all the fears and hardships I have endured accomplish this matter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 580

May the fruit of truth and untruth become the fruit of this matter! Furthermore, may the suffering from inferior food, clothing, companions, and actions, as well as poison, poisoned arrows, dangerous beasts, thieves, and various diseases, demons, living beings, and robbers, be endured, and may the fruits of both truth and untruth be achieved! From the heart of Tibet to India, I have strived like seeking a threefold cord, with compassion for others and mindful of the Dharma Lord. If this prayer is true, may the fruit of truth be swiftly accomplished! In the past, the all-powerful yogi master and the great Panchen, lord of the teachings, were invited, and countless beings were guided to the right path. If this is true, may the fruit of truth ripen today! I have respectfully relied upon the wonderful lamas of Tibet, China, and Nepal, and reverently partaken of the nectar of their teachings. Yet, I have long revered and meditated upon you alone, incomparable one. Now I beseech the fruit of truth! Those beings whom the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past could not liberate, may the swiftly appearing Maitreya liberate. If his form is likened to Mount Meru, and an image is made here, you are his son, a worthy successor to his father's work! In this land of snow, the light of happiness and Dharma shines only like the moon, stars, and lamps. You are the lifeblood of the Tripitaka and the sun for all beings. When you rise, wealth will increase and enjoyment will abound! Your deeds, as a prince and representative of the Buddha, are solely to transform meaning, ripen beings, and accomplish liberation. We stand before you with hope, beseeching you to embrace all sentient beings! Here, even ordinary people without faith can trust in some things and not be deceived. How can you, the embodiment of skillful means, power, and compassion, disappoint me? Therefore, I have come from afar, following you with the hope that it will not be in vain. May you, the protector of the three realms, accomplish all your works completely and spontaneously! Why did Nubchen Lotsawa (gnubs ston lo tsstsha, name of translator) go to the mountain peak of Mon, a place of Yama and Yakshas, and utter this truthful statement with sorrow, fear, and unease, as if lamenting? May what is seen and heard be in accordance with the truth! Thus he spoke. Then, messengers were sent to the east of India, and we, the master and disciples, prayed and deliberated in the borderlands. Considering that it would be unfavorable if war broke out in the plains of India, we decided to stay in Tsanpatang (btsan pha brang pa), which belongs to the mountains of Mon and faces India, and temporarily observe the trade situation in Bedur (be dhur) to seek provisions. After deliberating in this way, we stayed in Bedur for a few days. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
