It is said that he did not impart any oral instructions. The three disciples who completed the oral instructions were: the brother of Lhatsun Kali Jomo (Lha btsun Ka li jo mo), who completed all the oral instructions but did not transmit them to others. Shakya Gyal Trom ('brom) was from Pan Yul ('phan yul), with a good lineage and birthplace, and was very wealthy. Having heard the fame of Lama Drog (bla ma 'brog), he developed faith, and taking many possessions, he went to Mugulung (mu gu lung), made great offerings, and also offered Gyu Trom Mi Sho Yum (g.yu 'brog mi zho yum) as a vase empowerment offering, requesting empowerment and oral instructions. He made very generous offerings when requesting the Dharma, offering an inner offering for each Dharma session, a Torma (gtor ma) that each person could carry, a Mandala worth one sho of gold, and a Dar Sham (dar sham). It is said that the Dar Sham at that time was both good and rare, and its value was equal to the current Za'og Sham (za 'og sham). In this way, he served for a long time with special occasions and incomparable reverence. Because of the generous offerings, he completed these precious oral instructions and intended to return to his homeland. He requested to borrow a horse to carry the scriptures, but the great Lama said that the scriptures could not be carried, and it was true that he was returning home, but there was no custom for a Lama to give gifts to a disciple, so he did not grant it. Trom ('brom), feeling frustrated because of the many offerings he had made before, went to the Vajra Seat of Mugulung (mu gu lung). Trommi Shakya Yeshe ('brog mi shAkya ye shes) thought that even if he went to Shakyamuni Buddha, there would be nowhere else to go, so he developed wrong views and did not return home, but went to Lhoto Dishri Shed (lho stod di shri shed). It is said that because of his reputation as the best disciple of Trommi ('brog mi), he accumulated great merit, and there, to some disciples, he performed a blessing of the Great Seal (phyag rgya chen po) without letters. As a result, he vomited blood and was afflicted with illness. Trom ('brom) said, 'My Lama is the real Buddha, and my vessel is full of delusions. I did not realize this, so I have committed some transgressions of vows. However, I believe that under the compassion of the Guru, I will be guided in the Bardo (bar do). Take these things of mine and offer them to the Guru.' He also said, 'No matter who you ask for oral instructions, you will not have to make such arduous efforts as I have made, and you will receive the transmission.' It is said that at that time, he developed special realization and then passed away. His entourage cremated his body, and carrying the relics and possessions, as well as seventeen horses carrying luggage, as they came up the valley of Mugulung (mu gu lung) blowing conch shells, the great Lama said, 'I feel as if someone has taken out my heart, see who it is.' When he saw that it was Trom ('brom)'s entourage, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having offered the wealth to the relics Lama, the relics were accepted, and he said to his son: 'I hope that you will master one doctrine in this life,' but the son replied, 'I will not master any doctrine,' and then wept greatly. He said to you, 'Whoever among you wants the oral instructions, you can receive them without difficulty,' but not many requests were made. At that time, the two meditators Serog requested instruction and meditated, and it is said that good samadhi arose. Later, they attained accomplishment and became two of the three practitioners. Therefore, there is no one greater than Drom ('Brom, 1005-1064, founder of the Kadampa school). The so-called 'Drom's Lamdre' refers to Jomo Drommo (Jo mo 'Brom mo), who was a native of Phenyul in Utsang and a disciple of the great Sakya master. But she did not fully master the Lamdre, because she mixed the teachings of the Shije (zhi byed) and Dzogchen (rdzogs chen) schools. Therefore, this practice should be abandoned, and the vows are not kept either. Chabton Choga Dode (chab ston chos dga' mdo sdes) of Chap Lhakhang (chab lha khang) made an offering and requested the oral transmission, but he did not accept it, saying, 'I want an offering to my doctrine.' Later, it is said that Chabton went to Lhodrak (lho brag) and offered a fine piece of silverware, but he did not accept it. Master Thugye (mthu rgyas) said, 'The teacher and disciple had a good relationship.' There are other stories about this, but they cannot all be told. Third, how did Lama Se obtain the oral instructions? Se's homeland was Outer Drum (phyi 'brums) in the Do-med region, and he was the fifth of five sisters. When he went to graze the cattle, he suddenly thought, as if awakening to his nature. He saw clouds gathering above the Sor (sor) of Manggar Mugulung (mang gar mu gu lung), and thought, 'There must be oral instructions for attaining Buddhahood beneath that.' Thus, he arose with this thought. He asked, 'Who is there?' Some said, 'There is a nomad translator named Dromi Lotsawa ('brog mi lo tsA ba).' As soon as he heard this name, he developed great faith. He took two pieces of gold and went there, and met the person who was receiving the empowerment. He used one piece of gold as payment and the other piece of gold as an offering for the empowerment, and he received the empowerment. It is said that in general, many items were needed for empowerment at that time, but he thought that it would be beneficial in the future. After that, Dromi Lotsawa only taught Je Se (rje se) a method of single-pointed concentration and a teaching on the root downfalls, and then he went into retreat again. He did not meet with anyone except for a few old servants. It is said that he only taught some Dharma, such as guidance, in the room. At that time, an offering was required for each teaching of the oral transmission. If there were more than two people, he would not teach the Lamdre, saying, 'Do not teach the oral instructions to those with four ears, and those with six ears should be separated from mantra.' At that time, Geshe Konchok Gyalpo (dge bshes dkon mchog rgyal pos) did not allow anyone to go to Sakya. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
