Yes, having received empowerment in the mandala of one's own chosen deity, one should enter into practice. Among these, at the time of initially receiving vows, one should receive only the rough outlines of the root vows and transgressions, and later rely on the lama and scriptures for continuous observation. If one wishes to enter the Yoga Tantra and desires to make the former a path and a basis, then practitioners of the Kriya Tantra do not need to receive empowerment. Similarly, the distinction between Yoga and Maha Yoga Tantras should be understood. Those who wish to enter the texts of the Maha Yoga Tantra in particular, if they possess great diligence, then they should enter all stages gradually, as previously described. Those of middling diligence should enter a mandala such as the Vajradhatu of the Yoga Tantra, and relying on that, receive the training precepts and common root vows as previously stated, and then enter the mandala of the Maha Yoga Tantra and receive the specific samayas of the texts. Those of lesser diligence should rely on the mandala of the Maha Yoga Tantra itself, gradually taking the common vows such as the training precepts, and gradually obtaining empowerments. Thus, relying on the lower vows and obtaining the higher vows is also stated in the scriptures and oral instructions. As with the general vows of the texts above, in the Kriya Tantra, in the Sutra Requested by Subahu, it is said: 'First, abiding in the training precepts and the abandonment of the common root downfalls of the Mahayana, one enters the mandala and continuously observes the samayas.' It is said that even if one has not received them, one should still protect them in the same way, saying: 'From all the Vinaya of the pure morality of individual liberation taught by the Victorious One, the mantra practitioner who is a householder should abandon the signs and rituals, and the rest should be practiced.' It is said, and in the tradition of the Yoga Tantra, it is said as shown above, and in the tradition of the Maha Yoga Tantra, it is said: 'The strict discipline of each teaching, the supreme vows of uniting body, speech, and mind, the unbreakable vajra samayas, the constant guardians, the common and special additional samayas, I vow to receive them in sequence and promise to guard them.'

Thus it is said. In most empowerment rituals, it is said that common empowerment is performed based on common vows, and special empowerment is performed based on special vows. Therefore, the order of taking vows first is also the tradition established by Lampoche (the Great Path). Now, it is explained how to count and dedicate to protect the vows for those who have vows, and how to understand the signs and measures. Among them, there are four ways to count and dedicate. What are the four? Summarizing the essence of the scriptures, counting and dedicating in remembrance; for the root and coarse branches, reciting and counting and dedicating at the appropriate time according to the degree of diligence; when continuously practicing the yidam, visualizing the guru and the noble ones in front, in their presence, with remembrance and dharani power, adding and promising the vows; in order to understand all the branches of the vows, to make understanding a habit, and to make the habit mature in the continuum, one should always read the scriptures that extensively explain the vows. Among them, dedicating in remembrance is, as it is said in the Vajra Establishment: In short, my three doors, grasping the boundaries of the three purities, not being ashamed of oneself to the deity, friend, and teacher, and oneself, not abandoning the three behaviors and the three vows, completely not violating the four roots, possessing the ultimate four great signs, counting and dedicating the essence of the scriptures in remembrance. Thus it is said. Among them, if dedicating in general, it is from the actions of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, from things that should not be done, from the perspective of separation, how purity is done, and is being done. Entering into things that should be done is through mantras, mudras, samadhi, and offerings, manifesting merits, accumulating virtuous dharmas, and how things that benefit sentient beings are done, and are being done. From the three doors, becoming impure, becoming broken and mixed, what is lost, count and dedicate. And, one should dedicate by focusing on the four objects, contemplating whether one is ashamed of the deity, similarly, whether faith is ashamed of the teacher, whether love is ashamed of the friend, whether cunning and defilements are ashamed of oneself, count and dedicate. Counting by reciting as much as possible.
