Therefore, combining one's own body, speech, and mind with the yoga of the deity itself possesses completely pure discipline. As it is said in the tantra itself: "When the peaceful wisdom, the bodhisattva's conduct, practices the door of mantra, transforming oneself into the form of the deity, generating pride with unwavering mind, whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, constantly and at all times generating without wavering, at that time one possesses discipline." Thus it is said. Furthermore, when with what pure mind one equally combines the three doors into the body, speech, and mind of the deity, whatever movements of the limbs are mudras, whatever words are spoken are mantras, and guarding the discipline is also that itself, as it is said: "Manjushri, for that son or daughter of a lineage, having seen the mandala, generated the mind of enlightenment, possessing a compassionate mind, skilled in means, skilled in explaining the meaning of the letters of mantra, should think thus: Without speech there is no mind, without mind there is no speech, without mind there is no form of the deity, mind itself is speech, speech itself is mind, the form of the deity itself is also mind, speech itself is also the form of the deity. One should think thus. If one believes in this way without differentiation, then the mantra practitioner obtains a pure mind. When that one possessing a pure mind constantly in every way sees one's own body as the body of the deity, one's own speech as the speech of the deity, one's own mind as the mind of the deity, at that time one is abiding in equipoise. When at all times the mantra practitioner abides in equipoise, at that time the equality of body and so forth enters the state of abiding. Whatever movements of the limbs of one abiding in the state of equality, and whatever words are spoken, all of those are mantras and mudras. The mantra practitioner is always without enemies, constantly unmoving and dwells in bliss, obtains the position of all powers, abides in the place of abundant desires, they are cool and without torment, possessing forbearance and guarding discipline." Thus it is said. Therefore, there is no other path of mantra other than possessing mantra, mudra, and deity, this itself is प्रमाण (pramāṇa, validity), as it is said in the tantra itself, the oral instruction.

And when asked what is the Dharma of reasoning, he proclaimed the measure of oral instruction, the measure of scripture, and the measure of reasoning. He said, "Young man, what is oral instruction? It is like this: the teacher and the disciple. The teacher is one who possesses the qualities of a teacher. The disciple is one who follows the teacher's conduct, acts according to his words, and is not deceptive. That measure is oral instruction." Thus he spoke. Furthermore, he explained what is the Dharma that possesses reasoning. Dharma is of two kinds: the Dharma of scripture and the Dharma of direct realization. He also said that these are endowed with reasoning. For example, Manjushri, what other measure is there? The Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, whatever he speaks is true and does not change. He is the measure for the world with gods, for he is not deceptive. This statement is about the Dharma of scripture. Regarding the Dharma of direct realization, he said, "Whatever is realized, made manifest, and the fruit obtained, that is the nature of Dharma." This is considered to be an explanation of the measure of direct perception. That is to say, the nature of Dharma made manifest by the power of wisdom also explains the reasoning of the nature of Dharma and the reasoning of action. Furthermore, he said, "Whatever yoga practice is applied to obtain that nature of Dharma is reasoning." This refers to the measure of reasoning, explaining the essence of the path, and also includes the reasoning of action and relation. That nature of Dharma is actually the deity itself. He also said, "Manjushri, there are two kinds of deities: the nature of the fruit and the nature of maturation. Among them, the nature of the fruit is the realization of the nature of Dharma." And, "What is the nature of maturation? It is that which falls into terminology. What is it that falls into terminology? The nature of terminology is imputation." And so on, he extensively proclaimed. In short, all the various observations of the signs of means for the sake of realizing the nature of Dharma are called the deity of maturation, and the nature of Dharma is called the deity of the nature of the fruit. All that is not deceptive in the nature of Dharma and in obtaining the nature of Dharma is a measure.
