Abandoning dwelling in places unsuitable to oneself, and associating with excellent spiritual friends who possess the qualities spoken of in the scriptures, is purity. The purity of a place means it is undisturbed and undefiled by others. Therefore, this act of being pure means that there are no faults in the actions and conduct of the three doors, which means that karmic obscurations are prevented. What is called peace and patience: peace means abandoning pride, views, arrogance, and all kinds of unpacified afflictions and secondary afflictions; it means subduing the afflictions arising from miserliness and harmful intent. Patience means subduing miserliness and harmful intent, which are the root of downfall in the Great Vehicle. Among them, patience that does not mind harm subdues harmful intent and its related anger, resentment, indignation, and various forms of harm. Patience that disregards suffering in order to fully embrace qualities subdues miserliness and its branches, such as deceit, which are contrary to saving beings. Patience that does not fear the truth subdues the afflictions that are the root downfall of the Great Vehicle, abandoning the sacred Dharma, and the afflictions that are branches of abandoning the mind of enlightenment, such as ignorance, views, and doubt. In short, peace and patience protect the root of downfall of the Great Vehicle from degenerating and abandon the obscurations of afflictions. What is called restraint is the characteristic of restraining and protecting the mind from scattering in the objects of the six senses and from falling into dullness and drowsiness. This abandons dullness, excitement, carelessness, distraction, non-awareness, and other things that become obstacles to meditative absorption. What is called mind towards liberation is not abandoning the mind of enlightenment, which is the root of everything. Therefore, purity, peace and patience, restraint, and mind towards liberation are the summary of the conduct that a practitioner should possess. And pure clothes and so on show the difference of purity. What is called reverence for Vajradhara

These are the differences of deities and the differences of faith. The so-called "secret" is the secret conduct. The so-called "practicing the conduct of knowledge" includes the conduct of recitation, the conduct of fire offering, the conduct of meditation, and generally all those actions that have become conduct. Although all the actions of the practitioner are as mentioned above, some of these foundations will become common vows, so it should be understood accordingly. Among them, the different conducts of recitation and meditation will also be understood when the detailed rituals are shown below. The different vows of ordained mantra practitioners are that, as stated in the Pratimoksha vows, the differences from householders should be protected as stated. The different vows of householder mantra practitioners are that some things are allowed for ordained practitioners to protect, but some are not allowed for householders, such as symbols and rituals. Also, the clothes of ordained practitioners, which householders do not wear, are different vows. In short, behaviors that are not allowed to be mixed together are the vows of different individuals that are briefly shown. The vows of different deities are mostly well known. For the Buddha family, the main emphasis is on upholding the three vows and taking refuge in the Three Jewels. For the Lotus family, the main emphasis is on upholding the Dharma. For the Vajra family, the main emphasis is on the mind of enlightenment and taking refuge in the guru. Although these are well known, specifically, the Buddha family is about upholding the grounds of training, taking refuge in the Three Jewels, and benefiting sentient beings. For those who need to be tamed, benefiting them with peaceful actions, and in accumulating virtuous dharmas, accumulating Prajnaparamita with the power of complete abandonment and realization, and showing manifestations from the upper part of the body, bestowing supreme accomplishments, and accumulating the inexhaustible treasury of the Tathagata's body, these are the main emphases. The Lotus family is about turning away from abandoning the Dharma and being stingy, as well as the Dharma and its mudras.
