In terms of meaning, the term Abhiṣeka (Tibetan: ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अभिषिञ्च, Sanskrit Romanization: abhiṣiñca, literal Chinese meaning: empowerment) refers to empowerment through manifest pouring. This also has a reason for pointing to one aspect. For example, "Go" (Tibetan: གོ།). The word "Go" means "where," used for "walking." It also refers to land, cattle, heavens, vajra, mountains, light, and directions. This word, used for land and cattle, etc., Abhi (Tibetan: ཨ་བྷི།) is manifest or apparent, and ṣiñca (Tibetan: ཥིཉྩ།) is pouring water and sprinkling, just like holding the mere dharma of the act of walking. Here, the term "manifest pouring" also merely symbolizes purity, symbolizing the attainment of its fruit and the mastery of the Dharma. Detailed distinctions are of two types: benefit and ability. Another type is outer and inner. Empowerment, granting of status, and bestowing of order are all synonymous. Cause, basis, object, essence, holding, karma, vast signs, what is symbolized, collection, attainment, definition, distinction, synonyms, these describe the characteristics of mantra empowerment. Activities are the actions of great beings benefiting sentient beings with great compassion. This also arises from the cause of the four immeasurables and is grasped by great wisdom, called skillful means activities. If these are not possessed, they will become trivial worldly affairs. The object of this activity is all sentient beings of the three realms, especially those who are harmful, sinful, impoverished, holding wrong views, and arrogant, are fertile fields. Detailed distinctions are of four types, such as pacifying. The methods are practiced through meditation, recitation, fire offerings, kila, torma, union, and the doors of the wheel. In short, there are differences between relying on the inner, relying on external objects, and relying on both. The fruit is the accomplishment of self and other benefits, such as happiness, enjoyment, power, and taming. In terms of definitive words, the term Karma (Tibetan: ཀརྨ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: कर्म, Sanskrit Romanization: karma, literal Chinese meaning: action) refers to Gardankṛtāya Karma (Tibetan: གརྟན་ཀྲྀ་ཏ་ཡ་ཀརྨ།), which means the actions of the actors are karma, the desire of the actor. Essence, cause, and basis, object, field, and distinction, method and fruit, by definition, describe the activities of mantra.

Know this. The mandala is: the ocean of victorious ones with their retinue, and with their palaces, is referred to as a mandala. It can be expressed through distinctions such as nature, samadhi, and images, and through distinctions such as body, speech, and mind, in many ways. But briefly, it shows the situation including the palace, which is a brief expression. From the etymological point of view, in "Mandala (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)", "Manda (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means holding the essence or quintessence, and "la (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means holding, so "Mandala (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means holding the essence. Therefore, it is called the mandala with the meaning of essence. Because the Dharmata Bodhicitta and the principal deities hold the qualities of the essence of the mandala, it is combined with the meaning of essence and expressed with the words of essence. On the other hand, "Mandala (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means surrounding, therefore, it expresses the mandala through the meaning of surrounding and arranging, as are all those expressed with words such as circle and roundness. On the other hand, "Manda (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means suppressing, and "la (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,meaning)" means holding, therefore, it is called mandala through the meaning of dwelling, as are all those used to express palaces and sun and moon cushions, etc. Through essence, distinctions, and etymology, one should know the mandala of the victorious ones. Offering means: to those who have become places of offering, with a mind of reverence and offering, through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and through external objects, etc., it is the nature of the action of offering. The detailed distinctions are: worldly offering and transcendental offering, which are well-known in some scriptures. This method requires understanding the distinctions of the field that has become the object of focus, the distinctions of complete dedication, the distinctions of obtaining results, and the distinctions of objects. Among these, from the point of view of the field, offering to the noble ones is transcendental, and offering to the places of worldly offering is worldly. From the point of view of complete dedication, offering dedicated for the sake of Bodhi is transcendental, and other than that is worldly. From the point of view of experiencing results, offering that becomes the cause of liberation is transcendental, and that which becomes the cause of other than that is worldly.
