Becoming the very purity of the Dharmadhatu, and for the sake of others, all roots of virtue also transform into the very cause of benefiting sentient beings, and also, by the power of the Dharmadhatu's complete purity, it becomes a cause of appearing to others. Because it possesses the perfection of others' benefit, it is not generally without difference. The Hearers obtain a small portion of the unconditioned, and the Tathagatas have the difference of obtaining complete purity. However, what is called Nirvana, in terms of what it refers to, the unconditioned itself, there is no difference. For example, distinguishing by the unconditioned is the noble person. It is like this that it is said. Therefore, all those faults that you speak of do not exist in our treatises, do not say such things. Now we will refute your treatises, please answer with reason. First, to those who only assert non-conceptual wisdom, we must ask: Like this, this so-called non-conceptual wisdom, other than merely appearing to the disciples that the Buddhas possess great wisdom, on the side of the Buddhas' own continuum, if it is asserted that there exists a self-aware consciousness that is free from the appearance of grasper and grasped, and has the characteristic of arising in a continuous moment, then is this wisdom asserted to exist because it cannot be destroyed by reason? Or is it asserted to exist because it is an antidote that cannot be destroyed? Or, even if it can be destroyed by any of these, but because the Buddhas are masters of the Dharma, there is some necessity, therefore this much is not abandoned but retained? Or, if it is not these, but if it is investigated whether it is established by reason to possess this much, then, for the time being, firstly, there is nothing that cannot be destroyed by intellect. The assertions of the Yogacharas have already been refuted by the Madhyamikas. In one's own treatises, it is impossible for something that is merely conventional to be indestructible by intellect. There is also nothing that cannot be destroyed by an antidote. It is not permissible to say that non-conceptual wisdom itself is the antidote to abandon obscurations, therefore there is no antidote to abandoning it. What is called non-conceptual is asserted to be the reversal of the appearance of grasper and grasped. And that is also said to be seeing the truth when the active movement of the conceptualization of grasper and grasped is reversed.
