Even the subtlest clinging is gone, thus free from all views. In that regard, nominally it is called the view of equality, meaning the inseparability of ultimate and conventional reality. Manifestation arises from the power of habit, so it does not quickly revert. Clinging arises from sudden, inverted conceptualizations, so it is easy to change. And clinging also arises from clinging to characteristics. That also arises from viewing things as real. If these three conceptualizations are reversed, even if the conceptualization of self-nature, the appearance, is not reversed, the view of the two truths will not arise. Here, some say that the Madhyamaka school does not differentiate between the two truths in the ultimate sense, and the Secret Mantra school does not negate appearances. This needs to be explained: In the mind of any person, if the characteristics of the two truths are established as true in the mind, and then measure the objects of knowledge, then the dualistic mind will never be abandoned. For example, when measuring "the two truths are inseparable in the ultimate sense," if the desire for shebo is that the conventional is only an illusion, then this desire has not been abandoned. Therefore, even when proving that the nature of reality is non-dual, it is born with two thoughts. When measuring "conventional is like an illusion," the Shravakas and Yogacharas say "like an illusion" because they have pacified the elaborations of what is considered to exist in the ultimate sense. But they do not say "in the conventional, from the perspective of being empty of substances that can function, it is like an illusion." Because even when refuting, one actually focuses on the characteristic of being established as a substance in the conventional, and believes that it itself is a real thing that is not truly established. Therefore, in this case, the two ways have not been abandoned in the mind. Therefore, it will become like this: Taking appearance as a subject, as long as the mind still thinks that its nature or subject is free from elaboration, and that appearance is only an illusion, then the mind clinging to the nature of appearance has not been reversed. Such a person will not be established as having the view of great equality. Therefore, putting the thief of the two truths into the mind and then measuring the objects of knowledge is only said to be an antidote for those who are too attached to reality. However, for the self-nature of the Dharma, the charac-

Therefore, the two are not separate. If clinging to the characteristics of something is reversed, then one is separated from attachment. No matter what appears, the thought of desiring existence and the thought of wishing will not arise. At that time, it is called the view of great equality. Again, it is asked: Is mere appearance not conventional? The answer is: For any individual who clings to appearance as conventional, it has already been explained above that clinging to the ultimate truth, which is free from elaboration, is the ground. If so, asking about clinging to one or clinging to two with a mind that does not cling to the two truths as true is a prophecy, like asking whether the son of a barren woman is blue or white. Again, it is asked: If so, what does your treatise accomplish? The answer is: We only refute your evil views, and we do not accomplish any real meaning beyond that. Therefore, in name, it is designated as the view of great equality, but there is no clinging to the view at all. The empty sheath of the black snake was made by Dharmabhadra. The so-called "Great Earth of the Buddha" abides here. Regarding the nature of the Buddha's Great Earth, how the qualities of virtue abide, and how the nature and qualities are spoken of in the definitive sense according to the intention of the Tathagata, whether they appear and are complete in that way, or whether they are spoken of according to the appearances of the beings to be tamed, and how one should view them in the definitive sense, for such thoughts, a brief description of each school of thought and the treatises on which they rely. Among them, what is included in the Dharma of the Buddha from the sutras and treatises, as well as the principles of tantra, is spoken of in a summarized and extensive way, as follows: such as the four bodies, speech, mind, and wisdom, as well as the complete purification of the Dharmadhatu, and also the ten powers and the eighteen unshared qualities, as well as the thirty-two great compassions, as well as the excellent marks and signs, as well as the perfect arrangement of the Buddha's field, as well as the infinite gates of dharani and samadhi, as well as the unshared mindfulness, as well as the nature of not forgetting, as well as the complete purification of all habitual connections, and the ocean of Buddha's qualities such as the all-supreme wisdom, and other Buddhas' bodies and realms, and the arrangement of the body.
