There are four ways to be swift. For example, conduct without acceptance or rejection becomes a companion in the manner of obtaining equanimity. As it says in the Noble Net of Means, "The great samaya is the three aspects of purity; to practice it, as a burden, there is no good or evil in Dharma, and if the samaya of no purity or impurity in food is not broken, even if one engages in the five poisons, one will not be stained by its faults, which is called the Vajra Body, and so on." Also in the Illusion Tantra it says, "By joining equal with equal, abiding in the samaya of equality, one will attain the great perfection of equality." The second is, without tormenting body and mind with asceticism and severe vows, one quickly attains the samadhi of equality. In the Secret Assembly Tantra it says, "By relying on asceticism and unbearable vows, one will not achieve accomplishment; by relying on all the enjoyments of desire, one will quickly achieve accomplishment." The third is, by not taking up many virtuous activities, one quickly attains equality by not being distracted in mind. In the same tantra it says, "If you desire the supreme Bodhi, do not read scriptures, do not circumambulate stupas; if you do so, it is difficult to attain Bodhi." The fourth is, without regarding inconsistencies in the limbs of ritual methods, inversions, excesses or deficiencies as faults, and without doubting anything, one quickly attains the samadhi of equality without hesitation. In the Illusion Tantra it says, "By completely combining all mandalas, all mandalas will be accomplished. If the ritual is excessive or incomplete, it is pure and without fault." In short, all dharmas should be combined with equality, combined with the experience of equanimity, and practiced for the sake of equality. But it is not said that those with a materialistic view should practice in that way. That is said to be the place of downfall in all secret tantras. By this method, one should distinguish between the swiftness and slowness of realization, which are also the differences of the path, the differences of the individual, and the differences of the state. From these three ways of showing the differences, those mentioned above are called the differences of the path. The differences of the individual who enters the path.

Since the potential is uncertain, in the Secret Vehicle, there are said to be eight types of potential. Among them, those belonging to the human and divine realms, as well as the potential of the Hearers, the potential of the Solitary Buddhas, and the bodhisattva potential who are unskilled in means, and those with uncertain potential and dull faculties, their path will become long. The bodhisattva potential who are skilled in means, as well as those with uncertain potential but sharp faculties, and those with the potential of great equality, their path will become near. From the difference in the stages of the path, there are two situations: the first is from the arising of bodhicitta until finally directly seeing the true meaning free from elaboration, reaching the state of mastery, there are differences in individuals and differences in the speed of the path. From obtaining mastery until reaching the state of Buddhahood, there are no differences in individuals and the path, because obtaining mastery is the same, it depends only on intention. Therefore, it cannot be determined that one will obtain enlightenment at a certain time. The tantric scriptures say that obtaining mastery over life, and extending life sixteen times, one will obtain enlightenment. This is common before that, even if a bodhisattva obtains mastery over life, if they wish, they can manifest enlightenment in one lifetime. As it is said in the Prajñāpāramitā: "If one properly attends to this Prajñāpāramitā, one will obtain mastery over the Dharma in this very life, and by extending life sixteen times, one will obtain the state of Buddhahood." So, what does it mean to obtain enlightenment in three countless eons? Those sutras mainly show great compassion, so they are spoken from the perspective of taming. For those who have already become free from fears and obtained mastery, there is no fault in abiding even more in this, and there is no fault in being even faster. The so-called three countless eons, an eon refers to afflictions measured by time. It is also said in the sutras: "After passing through countless eons of desire, countless eons of hatred, and countless eons of ignorance, one will attain Buddhahood." In short, from the first stage of the path, that is, from the arising of bodhicitta to obtaining mastery, there are differences in individuals and the path.
