Both are empty, existing only as the nature of self-awareness. Even at the time of Buddhahood, they only possess the wisdom of the pure world, which is merely the appearance of conventional truth. However, true wisdom is only a moment of non-conceptual wisdom. Those who speak of no-appearance believe that even in the time of all sentient beings, mind and mental factors have never arisen even for a moment with the appearance of grasper and grasped, but luminosity abides only in the nature of self-awareness. The thought that things appear as object and subject is said to be non-different and non-other than the mind, which is called habit, called grasper and grasped, and called imputation. Whatever is non-different and non-other cannot be substantially existent, but is merely imputed. Even in the time of the noble ones, one cannot be separated from that very nature, but the difference is being separated from the state of thinking that there is a sudden habit. Thus it is said. Therefore, even in the time of the noble ones, they do not accept the wisdom of the pure world. In general, the views of the Buddhas are similar in that they believe that karma arises from the world. Some of them, (the Hearers), believe that the nature of karma is the karma of thought and the actions of body, speech, and mind that are aroused by thought. Through the power of accumulating karmic habits in the continuum through these actions, two results arise: the arising of consciousness and the manifestation of maturation. Among them, the manifestation of maturation is the ripening and manifestation as body, place, and objects of enjoyment. Even though it arises from the power of the mind, the fruit of the habit ripens outside of the mind. By making it the objective condition and the dominant condition, that habit that causes the arising of consciousness, as the co-emergent condition, consciousness arises focusing on the object. Thus they say. Others, (the Mind-Only School), believe that it is true that karmic habits are accumulated in the continuum of the mind. Therefore, the fruit of the habit should also ripen in the continuum of the mind itself, for example, if a seed is planted in a field, how could the fruit ripen on the top of a mountain? Therefore, the mind itself, in which karmic habits are accumulated and ripened in the continuum of the mind, is what ripens as body, place, and objects of enjoyment. Therefore, as

All appearances are regarded as Dharma, and all fame is transformed into one's own mind. So it is said. Furthermore, due to the power of habit, it is said that the mind itself is like an object, and that the appearance of being like an object is precisely the ripening of habit. Therefore, the object of the mind is habit. So it is said. Moreover, the entering consciousness, together with the mental factors arising from the mind, accumulates habits in the alaya consciousness. When these habits become powerful and influential, the alaya consciousness itself matures as the nature of the fruit. That itself appears as body, place, and field of activity. That appearance itself also acts as the condition of the possessor of the entering consciousness, and also as the objective condition. The entering consciousness, with the habit of its own established cause, acts as the causal condition. So it is said. In short, all these texts do not seek other causes such as Ishvara, self, or nature, as do the outsiders. Rather, the karma accumulated by consciousness itself arises in itself, and it is also believed that one's own place and field of activity are established by it. Therefore, there is not much room for argument. (The Madhyamikas): Taking this stated view as a basis, when the conventional truth is measured by valid reasoning, it is not truly established as it appears and is experienced. Rather, it is said to be free from elaboration. Although the view of the ultimate truth is the same, it is divided into Sutra Madhyamika and Yogachara Madhyamika due to the differences in the conventional. Among them, the Sutra Madhyamika is the same as the conventional Shravaka Sutra, so there are not many different ways. Even at the time of the noble ones, it is said that they completely pass into nirvana in the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates. As it is said in the Hundred Thousand Prajnaparamita: Thus, the Mahayana of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. What are the eighteen? In what name, he manifests complete enlightenment in unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment and becomes a Buddha, and at what time, he shows to the world with gods, demons, ascetics, and brahmins that all suffering has ceased, until he completely passes into nirvana in the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates.
