To think of meditating on the antidote, the door to liberation, emptiness, whose characteristic is being devoid of things; similarly, the signless samadhi, whose characteristic is peace; and the wishless samadhi, whose characteristic is eliminating suffering. This is the work of Mara. Because falling into the extreme of acceptance and rejection obstructs the arising of the wisdom of the equality of all phenomena. So what should be done? (The scripture says) "Form itself is emptiness." By realizing that incompatible things and antidotes are not different, this is also called the liberation of skillful means. By realizing that incompatible things have no substance to be abandoned, this is also called the liberation of self-luminous nature. By realizing that there is no inherent self in all things, this is called unconditioned liberation. One should grasp such meaning. That is its meaning. Furthermore, abandoning the three paths of samsara and meditating on the path of nirvana is also the work of Mara. (The scripture says) "That nature is not pacified, where does one dwell seeking abandonment of self-nature?" This means that if one sees the three poisons of desire, hatred, and ignorance as the path of samsara and abandons them, and sees the roots of virtue without attachment, etc., as the path of nirvana and meditates on them, this is also the work of Mara. Because falling into the extreme of acceptance and rejection, one does not see the meaning of the inherent peace of all phenomena. Because the nature of phenomena does not dwell in seeking and abandoning. As it is said in the Vimalakirti Sutra: "Is liberation not liberation by abandoning desire, hatred, and ignorance?" The answer is: "To say that liberation is by abandoning desire, hatred, and ignorance is what the arrogant say; for those without self, the nature of desire, hatred, and ignorance is liberation." This is also in accordance with that. Furthermore, in that same sutra it also says: "Like those noble Arhats, if they think 'I have abandoned all afflictions,' even thinking like that, they will not become Arhats." The reasoning is the same. So what is the real basis of the noble path? (The scripture says) "The realm and abode of all noble beings is also the path of transcendence, etc., there is nothing else." This means that the realm seen by the noble ones

And also the place of accomplishment is, there is nothing other than the equality of Dharma, non-duality. The path to attain Nirvana is also nothing other than the equality of Dharma, non-duality. Therefore, as long as the meaning of the equality of Dharma, non-duality, is not fully realized, and as long as there is even a tiny bit of the mind of abandoning and taking, then that is only a place of liberation, not the true essence of the path itself. Therefore, in the teachings of the Buddhas, it is said that without realizing this path, one cannot attain Buddhahood through other paths. This shows that if one does not realize the meaning of the equality of Dharma, non-duality, one cannot attain Buddhahood itself. Therefore, the meaning of what is said as "the ultimate depth of all intentions" is also exactly this. This principle is also in accordance with what is said in the Sutra of the Jeweled Garland: "Whoever dwells well in the equality of nature of myself and all Buddhas, not abiding, not taking, they will surely become Sugatas. Form, feeling, perception, etc., as well as consciousness and attention, etc., countless Tathagatas, each of them, they will surely become great heroes." Now, let us briefly show the extent to which the mind of enlightenment has become familiar, stable, and thus gained mastery over the mind. That is, from the practice of the mind of enlightenment: As long as there is movement of the mind, that is the realm of Mara, the subtle path. Movement and non-movement, words do not abide, not abiding in a place. The path of the non-appearance of the Middle Way, is called the mind of enlightenment by the Sugatas. Thus it is said. Like this, no matter what appearance or thought arises, do not block it, but let it arise naturally; do not follow it, but let it subside naturally. Without effort, when abiding for a long time in a state of great equanimity, when one gains a little ability, even though appearances and thoughts continue to arise, they will arise free from attachment to reality and characteristics. For example, the appearance of things in a dream, the sleep becomes thinner than before, although the appearance does not disappear, the thought of seeing things as real and the attachment to characteristics disappear. After that, when wisdom and samadhi become even more workable, not only does the attachment to characteristics become subtle, but even the arising itself becomes subtle. For example, in a dream, when sleep becomes very thin, not only does attachment disappear, but even the appearance itself seems to become subtle. After that, wisdom and samadhi become extremely mastered.
