Now, the very nature is that the body, speech, and mind of Samantabhadra are already perfected in the state of Vajra Great Bliss. Therefore, having abandoned the diseases of disharmony and antidote, acceptance and rejection, this spontaneously abiding in the state of great equanimity is the meaning of what is called "equal placement." Even in the Great Vajrasattva Sky, it was said thus: Vajrasattva Great Sky, Samantabhadra vast Dharmadhatu, For the sake of liberating all on the pure great path, What is there to think about that is unborn and unceasing? Thus it is said. Vajrasattva is the nature of Bodhicitta, not gathered in the three times, without a place of change, and because it is extremely stable, it is Vajrasattva. The sound of "sattva" also applies to realization, and such a meaning is empowered by the great self-born wisdom, and because it is naturally luminous, it is also Vajrasattva. The sky is an example of pervading all without being a thing. Greatness is the quality of Bodhicitta, and that Bodhicitta Vajrasattva also always abides with the five kinds of greatness. That is the meaning. In short, just as the nature of all forms is the nature of space, so too, the nature of all dharmas is enlightened as the nature of Vajrasattva. That is the meaning. With the name of Bodhicitta Samantabhadra, it is shown that all dharmas are enlightened in that nature, which is called "Samantabhadra vast Dharmadhatu." Among them, the sound of "Samanta" means all dharmas that are unmixed and completely perfect. Unmixed means appearing as various, and completely perfect means the nature is non-dual. Since there is nothing to be disgusted with or abandoned in all of these, it is Samantabhadra. The essence of all dharmas is just that. For example, the sky, although it is the nature of all forms, abides and opens up, yet there is no obstruction. Similarly, there is nothing that has not been transformed into or included in the nature of Samantabhadra, so it is vast. Therefore, it is the Dharmadhatu. In short, all dharmas are enlightened in the nature of Bodhicitta Vajrasattva, or the nature of Bodhicitta Samantabhadra, and from all aspects, it is great and vast. Therefore,

Vajrasattva and Samantabhadra have the same meaning, and greatness and vastness also have the same meaning. As it is said: "The state of Vajrasattva of Samantabhadra." And, "Vast, great, the great Dharma!" Like that. Only that meaning is the Great Vehicle path, not like the lower vehicles where practicing other paths leads to obtaining other results. Rather, all sentient beings abide in their own nature as naturally liberated, which is called the Great Vehicle path. When any yogi realizes and becomes firm in this, becoming equal to glorious Vajrasattva or Samantabhadra, it is also called liberation. It is also called Buddha, as it says in that very text: "The meanings do not move as they are, liberation through non-action." And the Wondrous One says: "Having realized this wondrous Bodhi, also the nature of Vajrasattva, also becomes Buddha on the Vajra Throne." Like that. In short, the texts of Dzogchen state that there is no difference between the nature of Bodhicitta and the method of abiding in Bodhicitta; it is merely abiding in wisdom in accordance with how the nature is realized. That which is called unborn and unceasing means that Bodhicitta has no causes or conditions, so it has no nature of arising and ceasing. Since there is no arising or ceasing in its nature, there is no place for thought, therefore it is said, "Do not think of anything." Also, in this very text: "The Dharmata without appearance, is meditated upon by leaving it uncultivated." The way it is taught is also like that. This path of abiding without acceptance or rejection and without fabrication is also taught in other texts, such as in "The Lamp That Dispels the Darkness of Extremes": "Travelers do not hold two mind-streams, that is unborn, self does not observe self, since there is no other mind than that, what is there to fabricate and abide in?" It means that travelers do not possess two streams of consciousness, and the nature of that single one is unborn, and even when it appears to arise as the power of delusion, as awareness, self does not observe self, therefore there is no nature of fabrication and abiding. If one does not fabricate anything, will one not be stained by the faults of characteristics? Answer: Before being associated with the causes and conditions of illusion and conceptualization, the mind appears like a mirage, but because of knowing its own nature, there is no need to fabricate it.
