Bless. Even the destruction of the world by the eon of destruction, may it be blessed by subduing it in that way. Even the eighty-four thousand afflictions that afflict beings, and the four maras that prevent Buddhas from accomplishing the deeds of Buddhahood, will occur. In the common teachings, the outer world and the inner sentient world are said to be accomplished by the karma of sentient beings. However, in these two cases, there is no difference in appearance, and there is no basis for appearance. Merely as a cause for appearance, both compassion and karma can be transformed in common. The appearance itself can equally become a cause for both liberation and bondage. Therefore, it seems that either way can be established. If it is established as true, like the unerring mind that follows, then it will become true like the blessing of compassion. The actions of yoga do not grasp the point, and the three obscurations that are grasped by the bonds of affliction are: Thus, all the actions of a yogi, in short, are of three kinds: In order to worship the noble ones, offering and bestowing the assembly offering in the manner of a playful and ornate mandala; initiating an ocean of activities for the benefit of beings; and in order to generate a collection of merit, offering to the lama and giving alms, etc. All things that accumulate merit should not be abandoned, but should be grasped in essence, and should be enjoyed. If it becomes a bond of affliction, then it is shown as an obscuration. The order and meaning of these three are easy to understand, so they are not written out. Finally, the obscuration that is grasped by scriptural distortion is: Therefore, that very scripture, from that (scripture) to that (action) will become an obscuration. In that way, if one speculates on that, then one will not be able to attain that itself. Thus it is said, on that, the essence of the mind of the scripture, the nature of bodhi, that itself is the supreme of the basis, so it is the scripture itself. On that, the action is for the sake of attaining and realizing that itself, generating thoughts of existence and non-existence and the effort of speech, all of which are obscurations, like the ocean stirred by the wind. Therefore, if one abides in one's own nature, just as one abides in one's own nature, abiding in great bliss, it cannot be attained through speculation.

It will not change. That's all. This is like water and fire, which are naturally clear and bright if left unadorned. But if there is action, it obscures itself. Similarly, if one realizes that the nature of mind is without inherent existence, there is no need for adornment, and neither the object to be adorned nor the subject that adorns can be found. If this is not understood, no matter how hard one tries to adorn it, it only serves to increase the distinctions between past and future thoughts. For example, it is like white and black clouds obscuring the sky. Thus, by means of the thirty strayings and obscurations, the very cutting off of the places of straying and the obscurations is the manifestation of the nature of bodhicitta, and it is also the pointing out of the way to abide in bodhicitta. There are three ways of being: being Samantabhadra, being Samantabhadri, and being non-dual. These three are the condensed pith instructions of the five greatnesses. Whatever appears is the mastery of the play of Samantabhadra, therefore it is called Samantabhadra. Whatever appears, its own essence is not established, therefore it is called Samantabhadri. For it, there is no establishment of two characteristics, because appearance itself is unborn. The unborn itself appears in various ways, and the blessings of compassion are непрерывно. These three words also summarize all the meaning of Dzogchen. For it, there are three great assurances, which are the six great bindus condensed into pith instructions. What are the three? Nature, self-nature, great sovereignty. For it, nature is uncreated, self-nature is unadorned, and great sovereignty is spontaneously accomplished. For it, uncreated means that no matter how the delusion of sentient beings defiles it, the nature of mind does not change. Unadorned means that no matter how the Buddhas adorn it with methods, the qualities of bodhicitta cannot be increased. Spontaneously accomplished means that therefore it transcends going and training. This meaning also summarizes all the meaning of Dzogchen. For it, there are three roots of pith instructions, which are the condensation of the cutting off of the places of straying of the thirty strayings and obscurations. What are the three? Pith instructions that do not rely on scriptures, results that do not arise from causes, and dharmas that do not arise from mind. For it, the thirty strayings and obscurations also cut off the possibility of not realizing the nature of bodhicitta, and of obtaining it through the power of effort and practice. This is also indicated here. For it, Bo-

Since the mind of enlightenment is the essence of all dharmas, although it is the supreme instruction for cutting through doubts, it does not rely on the sound of scriptures. Although the mind of enlightenment is naturally luminous, it is not encompassed by the mental factors of wisdom, samadhi, and compassion. Although the mind of enlightenment is perfect and complete Buddhahood, it is not accomplished from the cause of accumulating merit and wisdom. How, then, does the one great bindu of the mind of enlightenment sever all the impurities of knowable objects? Because all dharmas are contained within the mind, and there is no other knowable object apart from the mind, and the very nature of the mind is enlightenment, as shown above, it undoubtedly transcends the four functions of knowable objects and is without defilement, therefore it is called severing impurities. The greatness of not being enlightened in everything from everything is called transcendence. If there is no such thing as being enlightened or not being enlightened, then what is there to strive for? Because there is no striving, it is transcendence. Such yogis who possess meaning naturally abide on the ground of Samantabhadra without differentiation. The ground of Samantabhadra without differentiation is the general principle of all Buddha-lands, which is the very meaning of the Great Perfection. Being called the second Vajrasattva means being in accord with the intention of Vajrasattva. Existence and non-existence: existence refers to the life created by the karma of sentient beings, namely ordinary beings and Bodhisattvas. Non-existence refers to the life obstructed by karma, namely Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. All of these, like the wish-fulfilling jewel, the king of power, are worthy of being honored with the crown of the head, and are the great yogis who have realized the meaning of the Great Perfection and are steadfast, because they are the second Vajrasattva. It will be taught in this way. They have explained the nature of the mind of enlightenment, the greatness of the mind of enlightenment, and the faults and obscurations of the mind of enlightenment, together with the collection of texts. Now, the method of establishing the mind of enlightenment will be explained, in brief.
