According to reason, lighting a lamp is also an action, but it cannot be proven that "nothing was done." If the minds and mental factors of the three realms are unreal pervasive imputations, then what is pervasively imputed can only be minds and mental factors, and nothing else. What is pervasively imputed is also the same minds and mental factors, established as cause and effect, appearing as two while being non-dual. Therefore, when "pervasive imputation" is mentioned in other contexts, it is seen that it only refers to strongly clinging with a specific conceptual thought, so it is applied that way in all cases. In general, the definitions of clinging and what is clung to can be summarized into three: clinging, pervasive imputation, and conceptual thought. These three are like saying afflictions, near afflictions, and pervasive afflictions, where the scope varies when measuring the meaning of the words, but sometimes there are commonalities when not measuring. These three clingings are also similar. Among them, the word "clinging" has a broad scope and can be used for the path, the result, and the scriptures of the teachings. Pervasive imputation can be used for all minds and mental factors of the three realms. Conceptual thought is used for the differences between mind and wisdom, and for certain aspects that have the function of applying terms. Sometimes, pervasive imputation itself can also be expressed by the word conceptual thought. When the word is used for the Buddha's miracles, the path, and the scriptures of the teachings, it can also be called the clinging of means. So, what do these clingings cling to? What the clinging of means clings to is itself, and it can also be said that these clingings themselves are what is facilitated. For example, it is said like this: "From the non-conceptual dharmas, one completely clings for the benefit of sentient beings, what is clung to by clinging, therefore it is called clinging." And so on, in the tantric scriptures and various clingings, it is widely mentioned that clinging is both clinging and what is clung to. What pervasive imputation clings to has already been explained above. What conceptual thought clings to is, the non-Buddhists...

Regarding the self of the Sautrantikas and the apprehended and apprehender of the Hearers, etc., these have already been explained in detail above in the context of explaining the tenets of each. So, what are the appearances that are conceptualized by these conceptualizations? Among these, the appearances conceptualized by the conceptualization of means are: those who have attained accomplishment, without abandoning this body of complete maturation, attain a divine body with the great seal, marks, and signs, endowed with the six superknowledges, and are able to unite with the ground of Buddhahood without abandoning the body, and so on. Even if it is not like that, it can become a substance burning like fire, travel in the sky, wander in completely pure buddhafields, and be able to remain for the duration of an eon, and so on. The appearances conceptualized by the all-pervasive conceptualization are: all appearances and ripenings, including the bodies, places, and enjoyments of the three realms. The appearances conceptualized by the various conceptualizations are: in the past, monks cultivated ugliness and it became manifest, and the garbage heap where friends lived together became an object of hatred, and so on. So, what is it that these conceptualizations conceptualize, but are unable to appear as such? Among these, what the conceptualization of means conceptualizes, but is unable to appear, is: when practicing the path of secret mantra, even if one cultivates letters and hand gestures, etc., one is unable to manifest maturation. However, the seed, etc. What the all-pervasive conceptualization conceptualizes, but is unable to appear, is: any mind and mental factors that have the accumulation of karma, but are unable to produce complete maturation. However, the seed, etc. What the various conceptualizations conceptualize, but are unable to appear, is: the self of the tirthikas, etc. However, the seed, etc. So, what is it that these conceptualizations do not conceptualize, and therefore does not appear? Among these, what the conceptualization of means does not conceptualize, and therefore does not appear, is that ordinary beings do not cultivate the path, and therefore the Dharma of the noble ones does not appear. What the all-pervasive conceptualization does not conceptualize, and therefore does not appear, is: because the conditions of consciousness are incomplete, karma is not accumulated, and therefore the aggregates do not arise. What the various conceptualizations do not conceptualize is twofold: because the conditions are incomplete, conceptualization does not arise, and therefore there is no conceptualization, which is included in the former. Having individually examined with the wisdom of individual examination, one realizes emptiness and selflessness, and does not conceptualize self and phenomena.
