If there is no contradiction, if there is no self-nature in the ultimate sense, then it will not arise in the conventional sense, saying this is not contradictory. The Dharma spoken by the Buddha, namely the characteristic of dependent arising, whether acknowledged in the ultimate sense or in the conventional sense, even if all conditions cease, the result will not appear, and there is no contradiction in this. It cannot exist merely in the conventional sense, nor can it be allowed to exist even in part. Therefore, it cannot be said that the appearance of complete purity will not cease. If it is said that one possesses the nature of the basis of great wisdom, possessing a body of maturation, then, having abandoned self-grasping, including its habitual tendencies, how can one grasp the body as oneself and reside in Bekgling (place name)? If the continuum of appearances cannot exist, then how can one prove that the Tathagatas possess pure, supramundane wisdom? If one examines with subtle wisdom, it seems that one cannot prove that the Tathagatas possess non-conceptual wisdom. Because, when Bodhisattvas are in meditative equipoise, the arising of non-conceptual wisdom, according to the view of the Bodhisattva's eight aggregates of consciousness, relies on the Alaya consciousness, that is, the matured, untransformed Alaya consciousness possessing all seeds, and the mind consciousness arises. Moreover, relying on the seeds of accumulating immeasurable roots of virtue, and unerringly focusing on the realm of Dharma, and the wisdom and samadhi arising from the power of mindfulness, being free from the mind that serves as the basis of self-grasping, and arising free from the appearance of conceptual thoughts of grasper and grasped, therefore, one can obtain the name of undefiled mind, supramundane mind, or wisdom. If the matured Alaya consciousness transforms, then, upon what cause and condition does the Bodhisattva's non-conceptual wisdom, that kind of similar wisdom, arise? If the transformation of the Alaya consciousness itself becomes like mirror-like wisdom, therefore, it itself is non-conceptual wisdom, or from it itself arises the discriminating wisdom of the transformed mind, possessing the object of ultimate truth, if one examines it this way, if it is itself, then transformation is contradictory.

If it is said to be a pervasive dharma, then all forcibly imputed constructs can also be inferred to be inconceivable. If it is said to arise from it, then searching for its causes and conditions is like the wisdom of worldly people. According to the doctrine of those who speak of oneness, for example, when gold is produced from gold ore by melting it with fire, initially the appearance of stone is shown, and later when the gold is seen to appear, it is assumed that the gold is produced from the stone with the property of gold, and thus a name is given. Then, when the nature of gold becomes stable, sometimes rust is seen to arise due to conditions, and it is assumed that rust arises from gold with the property of rust, and thus a name is given. If one examines closely with careful intelligence, these two are not mutually cause and effect, because both gold and stone have the same characteristic of the earth element. However, due to the proximity of fire, the bad element is exhausted first, and the good remains later, so it is assumed that most of the bad element is stone. When the good element becomes apparent, it is assumed that gold has appeared there. Then, when the nature of gold appears and the bad element appears due to conditions, it is assumed that rust arises from gold. Then, when impurities are not apparent due to conditions such as borax, it is assumed that the gold is pure. Similarly, when a single realm of consciousness is purified by the activity of wisdom and samadhi, the bad element of consciousness is exhausted first and the good remains later, and it is named mind and wisdom. Again, sometimes impurities are not apparent due to conditions, and sometimes impurities arise due to conditions, and they are named non-conceptual and pure world. In this way, the good element is not separate from the bad element, and gold is also burned by fire and refined better with borax, with fewer and fewer impurities, and eventually they are exhausted together. Similarly, the alaya-consciousness is also a single realm of consciousness, therefore, there is no good that is separate from the bad, and ultimately it will not appear. Even if one believes in the eight consciousnesses, one is not liberated from harm. When the undefiled mind arises and destroys all the seeds of the alaya-consciousness, if a seed for the arising of knowledge remains, what is the reason?
