Dreams that show omens due to the power of special deities have the ability to indicate omens of future things. Ordinary dreams do not, because there is no distinction in the nature of dreams. For mirages, too, due to the influence of conditions, some perform the function of obscuring the road, while others do not, because there is no distinction in the nature of mirages. For illusions, too, depending on the magnitude of the truth of the secret mantra of illusion, some appear only slightly, while others appear for a longer time. Some appear only in color and shape, while others also appear in smell, taste, and touch. For example, the illusionist Zangpo, in order to test whether the Blessed One was omniscient or not, conjured many forms of illusory enjoyment, and invited the Blessed One along with the Sangha of Shravakas. The Blessed One, knowing the time and understanding the dispositions, went accordingly, and also firmly blessed the illusory enjoyments conjured by Zangpo, and offered umbrellas, and also fulfilled the aspiration, saying: 'Who gives, and to whom is given? How is giving not perceived? By the equality of giving, may Zangpo be completely fulfilled!' Thus he spoke. There are also illusions that accomplish the completion of the two accumulations. However, Zangpo's secret mantra blessing power is weak, so it is not able to appear so firmly. The Blessed One's true blessing power is even greater, so it is able to appear firmly. However, there is no difference in the nature of illusions; the beginning is the same. Appearances that are completely grasped by the mind, other than one's own experience, appearing in the realm of others, can appear for a long time without distinction. This occurs in those illusionists whose mantra power is great. For example, the son of King Rama, named Bale, was entrusted to a hermit. The mother went to another village for some business, and the son secretly followed, but the hermit did not notice. Having lost the son, he searched but could not find him. Having no other means, he made an illusory son Bale, who was just like the real one, and lived with him. When the goddess Sita returned, the illusory son Bale also returned from his mother.

arose. There was also one son in the place where he was fostered. The mother did not recognize him either, and thought that one of them was an imposter son. So she took both of them to the king and explained the situation in detail. The king thought the same way, and for a long time, the two sons did what the king's sons should do. Like this, the power of a sage is much greater than that of a magician, and that magic also appears stable because of other magic. Similarly, the power of the secret mantra of magic is small, so it cannot appear stable. But the power of karma and afflictions is even greater than that. Therefore, the things that are emanated by karma and afflictions appear stable for a long time. The imputed form and the empowered form are also like that. In the past, there was a person who wanted to practice yoga. He went to the teacher to ask for permission. The teacher, in order to test whether he could practice or not, did not give him permission to practice, but said this: You should visualize that you have two very large buffalo horns on your head. After hearing that, he went back to his place and practiced without wavering. At some point, he attained samadhi, and the buffalo horns became as clear as if they were manifested. Then, when he touched them with his hand, he could not touch them. At that time, it is called the imputed form. Similarly, after practicing for a long time, at some point, it became touchable. He thought: Now that the buffalo horns have been accomplished, what should I do? I should ask the teacher. Thinking this, he was about to go out the door, but he was blocked by the door. So he gathered the villagers and said: Please tear down my door. When the villagers went, they saw that the man had very good buffalo horns on his head. Then they tore down the door and went to the teacher. The teacher was also amazed and gave him a very good permission, and he attained the siddhi of Mahamudra. The horns that can do things, when one only has the ability, are called the empowered form, which is the realm of the mind. When it becomes the object of the senses of all beings, it is called the accomplished form, which is different from the form that is the result of past karma.
