Thus it is. This is the only object of focus. The view of considering Īśvara as the cause is, as it is said: “Īśvara either leads one astray or definitely leads only to the heavenly realms.” This is proven by such statements. Thus, Īśvara refers to a person who exists from the beginning, is permanent, the creator of all moving and unmoving things, the ruler, and so on. Therefore, Īśvara is considered permanent, while his creations are considered impermanent. The arising of pleasure and pain is also considered to be caused by Īśvara's pleasure and displeasure. Therefore, in order to please him, one believes that by performing non-virtuous actions such as burning many living beings, one can attain the happiness of the heavenly realms. Therefore, this is also called a perverse view of cause and effect. This has two objects of focus: considering Īśvara as permanent and his creations as impermanent. The view of considering the agent as the cause is, as it is said: “I am permanent, but the mind changes, like a broken pot, like a bird flying away. The continuity of aggregates, like a mustard seed the size of a permanent thumb, is taken by what is called 'I'.” This is proven by such statements. Thus, for all sentient beings, there exists an agent called “I,” who has autonomy, is permanent and unchanging, is referred to by names such as sentient being, person, and puruṣa, varies in size according to the size of the body, and transmigrates from one body to another. Some say that there is something like refined crystal. Some say that there is a puruṣa with a thousand rays of light, reciting the Vedas. Some say that there are spontaneously born sentient beings that correspond to their respective bodies. Thus, they speak differently. This has three objects of focus: considering the “I” as permanent and solely the agent; considering the aggregates created by it as the nature of the result, impermanent and subject to change; and considering that result as merely a temporary result, without the continuity of producing other aggregates, and as being annihilated. These are the views of ignorance. The term "ignorance" refers to the side that is contrary to wisdom, and any view that corresponds to it can be called that.

It is called "speech." In order to show the correct view, it is necessary to show its errors and obstacles. This is (the author's) thought. In general, the basis of those who believe that things are caused by causes are five types: arranged by Ishvara, done by the agent, produced by nature, transformed by time, and produced from nothing. The author thinks that these are all included in those mentioned earlier. The tenets of those heretics who speak of permanence are of five types: Great Brahma is permanent, Ishvara is permanent, the self is permanent, nature is permanent, and subtle particles are permanent. The author thinks that these are also included in those mentioned earlier. Furthermore, the basis of those who hold to annihilation are five: without cause, without result, without rebirth, without sentient beings arising in the three realms, and the view that there are no deities who are liberated from the three realms. The author thinks that these are also included in those mentioned earlier. The causes for the arising of these inverted views are: not understanding the characteristics of the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas as they are, relying on the teachings of non-holy persons, and what is proven by direct perception and non-perception. Due to these causes, not only do inverted views arise, but if the Buddhist views are measured by the above standards, these faults will also occur in the lower views. Among them, how do those who claim Ishvara as the cause prove it by direct perception and non-perception? First, at the time of the formation of the world, when the place of Great Brahma is formed, Great Brahma will appear. In accordance with the wishes of Great Brahma, he became ministers and attendants, and the thought of wanting to create and transform arose, so Great Brahma created the places and sentient beings such as attendants and the retinue of Brahma. From that basis, it was previously unseen, but he created and transformed it, so it is established as such by direct perception. And the birth of sentient beings from the power of karma is unseen, so Great Brahma becomes the great place of view. Thus
