Through the path, one is made to believe, and with three characteristics, that which is believed is brought to ultimate fruition. And for that which is brought to ultimate fruition, without exertion in the four modes of approach and accomplishment, it is spontaneously accomplished, and one contemplates its meaning. And through these instructions on how to enter such a spontaneously accomplished mandala, the method of meditating after realization will be well shown. Having thus briefly explained, now it is intended to extensively explain the meaning of Dzogchen. For this, in order to inspire belief through scripture, it is explained by citing the source of the tantras. That is, as it says in the tantra, "The limbs of the Vajra Heap are," and so forth. These are the words spoken in the tantra and the explanations made by the masters, most of which are not explained in a commonly known way. The so-called Vajra Heap, in the ultimate view of Secret Mantra, (subject, ཆོས་ཅན།) the aggregates are also the Vajra Heap, and the sources are also the Vajra Sources, (thesis, དམ་བཅའ།) because body, speech, and mind are like vajra, being the nature of the deity. (reason, འཐད་པ།). When mentioning the body's faculty, consciousness, object, and the bodhicitta that arises from them, the object is the body, the faculty is speech, and consciousness is mind, as the former masters have said. The so-called bodhicitta that arises from them is generally said to be the mind element that arises after the body's consciousness, according to the commonly known element school. Others say it is the feeling that arises from the condition of the body's coming together and touching, according to the Madhyamaka school. If so, it is explained as the bodhicitta that experiences the bliss of the union of method and wisdom, inseparable. In short, whether it arises from the meeting of the body's faculty, object, and consciousness, or any of the mind and mental factors, no contradiction is seen. When it is said that bodhicitta is the nature of Vajra Samantabhadra, it is because the nature of mind is bodhi, so it is like vajra. Therefore, since there is no dharma to be abandoned or discarded from all places, it is Samantabhadra. Having thus quoted from one's own tantra, in order to quote other scriptures that are in accordance with it, all dharmas are not separate from one's own mind.
