"Scattering on the ground, it is self-liberated." Thus it is said. The second is: From that time, when it is absorbed, it is said. When naked rigpa-emptiness is recognized and naturally placed on the ground of being, then all the appearances of proliferation and contraction of conceptual thought, no matter how many arise, do not need to be liberated again by the antidote of mindfulness. Just as waves arise from a great river, yet water and waves are not different, they dissolve into non-conceptual, self-luminous nakedness. Just as a clear, bright, and stable lamp burns without the wind of agitation, one abides single-pointedly on rigpa. Moreover, the very essence of abiding, the suchness of reality, is not defiled by the grasping of objective consciousness. Rigpa itself is not grasped there by thought, but appears vividly, clearly, nakedly, without foundation, and without root. Although the clarity does not cease, there is no uncontrolled scattering of the six aggregates into their respective objects. Even in that non-conceptual state, there is no clinging to grasping, and thus there is no acceptance or rejection of post-meditation. Meditation dawns in a luminous and clear environment. Without the need for refutation or establishment of transformation, the necessity of ultimate liberation and vast expanse is completely fulfilled. Freed from the distinctions of shamatha and vipashyana, when one is absorbed into the union of rigpa, meditation becomes space. As Garab Dorje said: This rigpa, which is without establishment, Its own radiance manifests in every way without obstruction. All of samsara and nirvana dawn as the realm of dharmakaya. That very dawning is liberated in its own ground. Thus it is said. The third is to enhance through conduct: "From conduct, abide in equanimity." Thus it is said. When the meditation of resting is absorbed into space, even if one enters any of the paths of the three doors of action, everything becomes a play of dharmata, never wavering from its own state. Just as the magical displays of the four elements may appear, they never transcend the realm of space. Therefore, without hope or fear of delusion or liberation, one does not cling to the objects of the six aggregates with substantiality, but allows encounters to be self-liberated, naturally and freely. No matter how appearances manifest, they are not separate from the realm of rigpa. Therefore, all actions—walking, standing, lying down, and sitting—are decisively determined to be the play or dance of great, spontaneously arisen wisdom. Since all rootless phenomena are already enlightened as the spontaneously accomplished dharmakaya, there is no duality of object and subject, what is to be abandoned and what is to be adopted. The great equality of dharmata pervades and fills everything, without effort or aim.

Since there is nothing whatsoever to be meditated upon with conceptual meditation, one is liberated from the thought of wanting to meditate and abides in a natural, relaxed state. Since one does not meditate with an artificial mind, one realizes the meaning of rig-stong (awareness-emptiness) dharmata (the nature of reality) as naked and unobstructed, and since one is constantly connected with this state, one transcends the behavior of ordinary individuals. Whatever one does, everything arises as the all-good, unobstructed, impartial, and vast pure wisdom of Samantabhadra. Dharmata is continuous, like the flow of a great river; luminosity is clear and without waxing or waning, like the tip of a butter lamp. By means of rigpa (awareness), one constantly maintains equanimity with the state of suchness, and without wavering from this state, the wheel of wisdom turns in all directions. As it is said in the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra": "Whoever realizes that all phenomena that appear through fixation are without inherent existence, for them, appearance and emptiness are non-dual." Fourth, regarding the result, there are three points: the manner in which the three kayas (bodies of a Buddha) are spontaneously accomplished; the manner in which the ten conducive factors of the path are spontaneously accomplished; and the manner in which the result is summarized by combining it with the four limbs of approach and accomplishment. The first point is: "In short, it is spontaneously accomplished." This means that, in short, this unaltered self-awareness, the reality of dharmata, has never been deluded from the very beginning, but is already enlightened. Although the great three-kayas Buddha to be accomplished can never be found by seeking it externally, it is obscured by sudden deluded thoughts and bound by the clinging that sees it as something to be strived for and accomplished from the outside. Through the kindness of the lama, the ground-breaker of the authentic path, the realization of primordial liberation is generated, and one recognizes that the spontaneously accomplished Buddha resides within oneself. Phenomena are clear and unceasing, and essence is unborn and empty; these two are equal in one taste. In this all-pervasive state, by maintaining the uncorrupted ground, which is the essence of self-awareness, as the unaltered path in its primordial natural state, the nature of reality is revealed. Therefore, by realizing that sentient beings regard it as bad and Buddhas regard it as good, and without creating anything newly obtained, one reaches the state of the three-kayas complete Buddha from this very moment, and constantly abides in the great bliss of dharmakaya self-abiding. This is the result of spontaneous accomplishment without seeking. As it is said in the "Garland of Jewels Sutra": "Complete Buddhahood is self-awareness itself; its essence does not change in the three times."
