Furthermore, with unwavering faith and devotion from the depths of one's heart towards the Guru and the Three Jewels, and by accumulating vast amounts of merit, all harm from demons and obstacles will be pacified. As stated in the 'Compendium Sutra': 'Through four causes, a Bodhisattva possesses skillful strength, difficult to subdue. The four maras cannot overcome or move him, abiding in emptiness, not abandoning all sentient beings, acting as spoken, blessed by the Sugata.' It is like that. The third part has two aspects: concise explanation and detailed explanation. The first is, as the text says, 'Especially when arising from...' For a yogi, what is particularly cherished is that during the time of settling into samadhi, disturbances of the mind arise from the aggregation of the elements, so knowing the method to eliminate these obstacles is very important. As the accomplished master Lchegompa said: 'Even if a slight realization arises, those with weak wisdom and intelligence cannot control it and are robbed by circumstances. For such individuals, eliminating faults and obstacles is extremely important.' It is like that. Moreover, there are many experiential obstacles that are unfavorable to samadhi. Although there are many causes for these to arise, conditions that provoke them, ways in which they become obstacles, and methods for transforming them into the path, in summary, they can be condensed into five: sinking of mind, excitement, beneficial experiences, harmful experiences, and neutral experiences. Although these are not truly established in reality, without inherent existence, depending on conditions, their individual appearances do not cease, and when illusory images like sudden appearances arise in the mirror of the mind, one should transform them into the path in this way. The second part has three aspects: sinking, excitement, and eliminating experiential obstacles. The first is, as the text says, 'When sinking, issue a clear roar.' Here there are three situations: sinking without clarity of awareness, dullness not seized by clear experience, and darkness mixed with sleep. For all three of these, one should straighten the body, search from the subtle points, and adjust according to what is appropriate during the wheel of illusion. Direct the gaze towards the sky and issue a clear awareness. Hold the mind single-pointedly like a spear in one place such as the heart, abandon nourishing foods, wear light clothing, and stay in places where distraction is easy, etc., and take these methods of clearing. The second is, 'When excited,' etc., one line of verse. Here there are also three situations: awareness scattering to external objects, and

The wandering that cannot be settled. For the arrogance that has no place to settle and is always wandering, it is impossible to use, and the scattering of the homeless wanderers, and the distinction of the goers, the downward movement of wandering without feeling that the mind is settled, and the self-changes that occur when dwelling there, such as entering into attachment. For all of these, relax the body and mind, and direct the consciousness to the lower part of the body, represented by the navel. Despise the low perspective and do not put consciousness into trivial matters. Eat nutritious food, wear warm clothes, and live in enclosed houses, etc., and take repressive measures. Third, cultivate the nature from bliss and clarity. It is said that when a beneficial experience arises, the body does not feel it, and the mind is immersed in happiness, such as the experience of bliss, and the experience of clarity that one thinks one sees the phenomena of the three realms, and the three non-conceptual experiences of emptiness that are boundless and like the sky, and when other aversions, faith, compassion, etc. arise from the depths of the heart, if one tastes its flavor, the experience disappears like a fog. If wandering is cut off, the continuum of growth will be interrupted. Because this is the seed of becoming controlled by others, do not be happy, complacent, or attached to it, do not accumulate experiences, but observe the nature, remain equal, and transform it into the path. When harsh and harmful experiences arise, such as illness, pain, stinging, heartache, and disturbances of the elements, if the mind is depressed and controlled by them, it will be worse than ordinary people, so know that everything is unreal and illusory, and observe the nature of feeling uncomfortable, so that the experience of liberation in the rootless and baseless is cultivated. The middle experience that has neither benefit nor harm. The seeds of habits of samsara and nirvana dwell in the alaya consciousness, and the veins, letters, winds, and bindus dwell in the vajra body, which are restrained and raised by the key points of the body and samadhi, so that various experiences and appearances of samsara and nirvana appear. If you follow it, demons will enter. If you ignore it, it will not be transformed into the path, so for everything that happens, do not regard it as a fault and deny it, nor regard it as a merit and affirm it, but rest without attachment in the great self-liberation, so that it is transformed into the path. No matter what kind of obstacle arises, know that everything is the illusion of your own mind, so that there is no idea of accepting what is good and abandoning what is bad, and cultivate naturally in the uncontrived awareness, thereby eliminating all faults.
