For example, it is said that after the passing of Thugpa Thubten Nub, until the arrival of Jampa Gonpo (Maitreya), he would perform the activities of treasure for the fortunate ones. In short, he has spread immeasurable kindness throughout the entire Tibetan region, both border and central, until the attainment of Bodhi, which is now a manifest reality for the wise in this era. This is an explanation of the particularly excellent Dharma gates among his activities. Fifth, the time when the miraculous displays and great Dharma gates of Samye Monastery appeared is revealed implicitly. Second, regarding the arising of circumstances, there are two parts: establishing the basis for arising and the actual arising. The first part is revealed from "At that time, at that moment" to "became inseparable." The second part is revealed from "In such a way" to "bestowed teachings, Samaya (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ།)." Here, if the general meaning were elaborated, it is feared that there would be too many words, so it is not written, but the meaning of the words is easy to understand. Third, explaining the meaning of the complete understanding of the essential instructions is divided into three parts: briefly stating from the perspective of the meaning to be explained, opening understanding with a unique topic, and explaining in detail the meaning of the words by how to explain. The first part is: "Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ།), Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ), Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།), Hoh (Tibetan: ཧོཿ)" appear. To explain its meaning, it is divided into two parts: generally explaining the very nature of the root letters, and specifically explaining the meaning of the four syllables derived from it. The first part has five points: essence, nature, etymology, function, and classification. The first point also has: In the context of common terminology, it is considered as the formative aggregate that is not associated with the five aggregates, and because it has become a symbol or sign of the Dharma, it is considered as the Dharma seal of the Buddhas, and because there is no difference between deities and mantras, it is considered as a deity by yogis, and because this sign is able to bless the continuum of beings, it is considered as a Buddha, and because the blessings of the Tathagata and the maturing Dharma are mixed together, it is considered as appearance, and because the wisdom of the Buddha itself is blessed as letters, the two are considered inseparable. According to the differences in individuals and circumstances, there are six different explanations. The second point is: The nature of mind is luminosity, which naturally appears as clouds of letter wheels, and apart from that, nothing can be considered as substance. As the Guhyagarbha Tantra says: The mind

Like my letters, letters are not substantial. (Tibetan) Thus it is said. Also in the Sutra it says: Subhuti, letters are unborn in the ultimate sense, they are the nature of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, literal Chinese meaning: A). What is the nature of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, literal Chinese meaning: A), that is the nature of mind, which is completely beyond all existence and non-existence. Thus it is said. Third, in the realm of the object of Dharma, the subject's self-born wisdom writes without effort, spontaneously accomplished and immutable, hence it is called Akshara (Tibetan: ཨཀྵར, Sanskrit Devanagari: अक्षर, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: akṣara, literal Chinese meaning: immutable); because it clarifies all that is to be expressed, it is called Vyanjana (Tibetan: བྱཉྫ་ན, Sanskrit Devanagari: व्यञ्जन, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: vyañjana, literal Chinese meaning: clarifying); because it possesses the power to represent meaning, it is called Varna (Tibetan: ཝརྞ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वर्ण, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: varṇa, literal Chinese meaning: color). In the Guhyagarbha Tantra it says: From the Dharmadhatu, written by the Dharmadhatu, therefore it is called letters. (Tibetan) Thus it is said. Fourth, the insubstantial nature of letters appears as various dances of clouds of samsara and nirvana, thus generating names that only represent the essence of meaning, and words that represent the differences of meaning. These gathered together can represent all that is said of samsara and nirvana encompassed by the ground, path, and fruit, thus possessing the power to accomplish the deeds of the Buddha. (Tibetan) Words are the place that holds everything, speaking and showing various great meanings. (Tibetan) Thus it is said. Fifth, regarding the manner of classification, according to the view of Dharma Lord Omniscient Great One, there are four types: Letters of the meaning of abiding reality, as it is said in the Mayajala Tantra: Mind-nature is the nature of letters, letters are like wish-fulfilling jewel clouds. (Tibetan) Thus it is said. Mind-nature is self-luminous by nature, it is self-born wisdom, free from permanence and annihilation, coming and going, it is the basis from which all letters of samsara and nirvana arise. Letters of the body residing in the channels, in the life force of the four chakras of the body—the three channels, Rasa, Lalana, and Avadhuti—naturally abide in the form of white, red, and blue Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Om), Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: āḥ, literal Chinese meaning: Ah), and Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hum), as the support for the outer manifestation of body, speech, and mind, the inner manifestation of the three poisons of afflictions, and the secret manifestation of the three kayas. From its radiance, in the petals of the four chakras, eighty-four thousand single, stacked, and attached letters of vowels and consonants of skillful means and wisdom abide, as the support for the outer manifestation of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and the cause for the arising of such speech, as the support for the inner manifestation of afflictions and conceptual thoughts, and the support for the arising of such day and night conceptual thoughts.
