To integrate the view held into the continuum is to practice in walking, moving, lying down, sitting, and rising. Whatever one's conduct, do not separate from Dharma practice. Abiding in the nature of the cause, one will not be separated from meditation in sessions. In general, if one does not grasp the key point of meditation, the great meditation that imprisons body and mind is said to be a noose of bondage. Guru Padmasambhava said: If one abandons the activities of offering and confession, karmic obscurations will not be purified. Jo-mo asked, "What is that?" He replied: "At the time of practicing the instructions, it is called making Dharma practice the path, that is, meditation, offering, circumambulation, tsa-tsas, tormas, recitation, and all other Dharma practices are brought into the path of non-outflow, and activities and actions are not interrupted. One should not primarily engage in them through attachment and fatigue, etc. In general, if one does not grasp the point of non-reference, then whatever one does will only generate the happiness and results of samsara, and will not transform into the path of enlightenment. It is meaningless." Guru Padmasambhava said: If one does not attain the signs of warmth from practicing the Dharma, then the instructions have not landed on the point. Jo-mo asked, "What is that?" The inner signs are that bliss, clarity, and non-thought arise naturally from within, and that one is free from the clinging to afflictions, and realization has become self-liberated. Blessings naturally erupt, and power naturally arises in body and speech. One is able to cut through afflictions and adverse conditions like hail, and one cannot be deceived by sickness, demons, and spirits. These are the intermediate signs, having obtained the blessings of the Dharma. If one is separated from the eight worldly concerns and liberates from self-grasping, that is the outer sign. In general, if the master of the Dharma is bad, definitive understanding will not arise, so one should rely on a lama, a siddha, and an unbroken lineage. Guru Padmasambhava said: Profound instructions have no books. Jo-mo asked, "How is that?" He replied: "For instructions that are not felt, even a single word must be given by a special lama to a fortunate disciple, and when taken into hand, definitive understanding will arise." Tso-gyal: Your own mind is unborn, empty-clear, and pervades all, so practice it continuously. In general, if the master of the Dharma is good, then the pith instructions can be found wherever they are. Guru Padmasambhava said: Whatever Dharma one does, if it does not go for the benefit of sentient beings, one will go to the cessation of the Hearers. Jo-mo asked, "How does one go there?"

When practicing instructions, one practices the Buddha's intention for the benefit of all sentient beings. Accomplishing the benefit of others through the uncommon Great Vehicle. Desiring peace and happiness alone is the Lesser Vehicle. In general, it is said that wanting happiness alone will not bring happiness. Guru Padmasambhava said: If not seized by non-referential compassion, then all roots of virtue that have been done will be exhausted. Jomo asked: How is that? The root of virtue with reference cannot be increased and is exhausted. If seized by dedication without reference, then the root of virtue is not exhausted and is the main cause of unsurpassed enlightenment. What is without reference? Not focusing on self. Not focusing on others. Not focusing on the root of virtue. Give with emptiness. In general, that virtue with arrogance is a perverted dedication. Guru Padmasambhava said: One root of virtue skilled in means overwhelms others. Jomo asked: What is that? If one obtains expertise in all instructions, then having studied that true meaning, and sealed it with dedication without reference, then the focus on objects is overwhelmed, and the root of virtue increases from any Dharma. In general, it is said that for the root of virtue to truly increase, one needs to be without focus and without trace. Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava said: If you associate with a friend who has three harmonies, then obstacles and demons will not be able to harm you. Jomo asked: What is that? Meditate on the crown of your head in order to pray to the harmonious and qualified lama. Associate with harmonious friends who practice the Dharma with the same vows. Rely on the instructions of the harmonious teachings that the lama and practitioner have taken into practice through practice. If you do not separate from these three, you will not be harmed by obstacles. In general, if you set your own mind as a witness, it will be good no matter what happens. Guru Padmasambhava said: To practice the Dharma, you need to establish a good foundation from the beginning. Jomo asked: How should I do that? First, if you have not accumulated your own accumulations, you will not meet a lama with instructions. If you do not have the karmic connection of past practice, you will not understand the Dharma. If you do not have special faith and respect, you will not understand the qualities of the lama. Without vows and samaya, there is no root of Dharma.
