At that time, with strong antidotes, abandon the servitude of others' attendance, prostrations, offerings, protection, etc., and the obligations of others' faces and food. The vow should also be gradually extended from seven days, nine days, half a month, then to a month and a year. The best is thirteen years, the middle is six years, and the worst is six months. If that is not accomplished, then like summer grapes, without laziness or negligence. If you put the pebble of asceticism on it, it will become meaningful. In general, a vow that cannot be accomplished is a great cause of degeneration, so do not make a vow that cannot be accomplished. Guru Rinpoche's emanation said: The secret that is not degenerated, when practicing in the continuum, this verbal restraint is very important. Jo-mo asked what that was. The teacher said: Among distractions, the greatest is talking too much, and idle talk will become an obstacle to virtuous practice. If you can restrain speech, that is the best among retreats. Even if the body gathers in the market, do not look. How much asceticism you can do, it is good if you can restrain speech. Even if it is not accomplished, you must restrain speech until the virtuous practice is achieved. Language will generate power and be quickly accomplished. In general, there is no meaning in saying too much that is not Dharma practice. Guru Padmasambhava said: When meditating on the Yidam deity, the view of Samadhi of body, speech, and mind is very important. Jo-mo asked what that was. The teacher said: The body appears as the form of the deity, but it should be clear that it has no self-nature, that is the Samadhi of body. The mantra of the deity is recited clearly and purely, the sound and emptiness are inseparable, that is the Samadhi of speech. The mind is free from conceptual thoughts, clarity and emptiness are inseparable, that is the Samadhi of mind. Not deviating from the Samadhi of body, speech, and mind, that is Mahamudra. Om (藏文:ཨཱོྃ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:身), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:语), Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:意), these three syllables are recited regularly, and you will have the body, speech, and mind of all the Sugatas. In short, if the body, speech, and mind are separated, that is the wrong path of secret mantra. Guru Padmasambhava said: It is very important to take the number of recitations and the time of the session. Jo-mo asked what that was. The teacher said: When reciting, divide one day into three or four sessions, and recite one thousand times per session, five hundred times in the middle, and at least vow to recite one hundred and eight times. Before it is completed, you must restrain speech and do not interrupt it with human language. This will not cause obstacles.

Oṃ! To diligently practice recitation is my instruction. It purifies obscurations, accumulates merit, removes obstacles, and accomplishes siddhis. Among recitations, all the essence of the body, speech, and mind of all the Sugatas are contained within these three syllables, so recite them. In general, accumulating drops can become an ocean. Without closing the mouth, it is important to learn each mantra syllable. Guru Padmasambhava said: If skillful means and wisdom are not united, then the secret mantra will go astray. Jomo asked: What is going astray? The Guru said: Skillful means means that whatever you meditate on, whether it is the generation stage or the completion stage, its meaning is not mistaken. Wisdom means that if you do not realize the view, that is, the meaning of emptiness, luminosity, and self-arising of dharmata, then you will not enter the path of wisdom. Wisdom without skillful means does not generate experience. Skillful means alone without wisdom cannot realize dharmata. Therefore, they must be united without separation. Guru Padmasambhava said: If you do not understand the inseparability of samatha and vipassana, you will not attain the state of emptiness. Jomo asked: What is samatha? The Guru said: Samatha is to abide in the nature of dharmata, which is clear and without conceptualization. Afterwards, realize that everything is empty without inherent existence. When experiencing emptiness, without attachment or clinging, without samatha and vipassana, without focus or characteristics, it naturally dissolves. In general, samatha and vipassana do not need clarity or non-clarity, like looking at a face in a mirror. Guru Padmasambhava said: If you do not understand that sinking and excitement are pure in their own place, then even if you meditate, you will fall into the end of faults. Jomo asked: What is sinking and excitement? The Guru said: When abiding in the self-luminous dharmata, when sinking and excitement arise, by looking at them, sinking itself also dissolves into the emptiness of dharmata. Without attachment to sinking and excitement, after purification, you will not fall into the end of sinking and excitement, but will be naturally liberated. If you know that sinking and excitement are pure in their own place, then meditation will arise. In general, all meditation becomes mind-meditation by adjusting sinking and excitement. It is important to realize that the root of sinking and excitement is emptiness. Guru Padmasambhava said: If you do not know how to mix conduct with practice, then meditation will become a bond. Jomo asked: How does it bind? The Guru said: When abiding in the dharmata, which is free from elaboration,
