The circumstances were as follows: Chimza Masa Le-od and Ru Yongza Mati, along with seven women, made a gold mandala one cubit long, adorned with turquoise flowers and seven kinds of precious jewels. They made a tsok offering with rice wine and various foods, and said, "Great Teacher! Grant us the immaculate body, the pure speech, and the mind free from elaboration!" Then, Jomo Kharchenza Tsoyal said to the Teacher Padmasambhava, "I am a woman with little wisdom and a dull mind, with little understanding and a narrow heart. Is there a key instruction that is easy to understand, easy to grasp, easy to comprehend, and easy to realize, so that I can attain enlightenment in this life based on this female body?" The Teacher gave this instruction: "Kharchenza, listen! The meaning of the true nature of reality is beyond the realm of the intellect, without limits or partiality, and free from the extremes of elaboration. It is not established as the essence of anything. Therefore, it is not necessary to analyze it with wisdom, because it is known to be inherently present in one's own mind. So, wisdom is not necessary. Rest and relax in the radiance of wisdom." The true meaning is beyond the scope of the intellect, and although it abides as unborn, pure, self-arisen, and self-illuminating, it is not necessary to deliberately meditate on it. By experiencing it as self-illumination, it is not necessary to grasp it with the intellect. Sharpness of mind is not needed. Let the mind rest. In the awareness of equanimity, there is no big or small. The mind of the Buddha and the mind of sentient beings are initially one in the cause of bodhichitta. In the middle, enlightenment is attained through realization, and wandering in samsara occurs through non-realization. The essence of mind itself is free from elaboration, clear and bright, empty and void, not being anything. The unobstructed clarity and radiance is the intention of the Buddha, so there is no need to realize it from somewhere else. Realization is the ultimate arrival. The meaning of the nature of reality cannot be grasped in words or letters, so it is free from the extremes of elaboration. The key instruction has no written diagrams or scriptures, so there is no elaboration to cut off. If you realize it in this way, it does not matter if your wisdom is small, it does not matter if you are dull-minded, it does not matter if your understanding is small, and there is no need for a broad mind. That is how realization reaches its ultimate conclusion. That is how the word lineage corresponds with meaning. That is how the extremes of elaboration of listening and thinking are cut off. That is how one attains enlightenment in this life without abandoning the body. Practice in this way! In general, for you, a child of a woman,
