The Great Master, the Incarnate Padma Sambhava's Teachings. The Great Master, the Incarnate Padma Sambhava's Teachings. Pages 179 to 278. The beginning of the Great Master, the Incarnate Padma Sambhava's Teachings. This Dharma is the essence of practice, please keep it in mind, it is good! Emaho! Master Padmasambhava. King Trisong Detsen invited him to subdue the land of Samye (approximately 762-798 AD). He was invited to build the glorious Samye Monastery, and when the consecration ceremony was held, the master was invited to the top floor hall. Please be seated on the silk throne, and wear a silk purple robe. Fill the gold and silver cups with fine wine and offer them with both hands. Offer all kinds of worldly treasures. On a cubit-long golden mandala plate, arrange emerald flowers in the form of seven treasures. The emerald worn around the king's neck is like a radiant sun. The conch shell is like the moon. The precious golden mandala plate is made into the shape of the four continents and Mount Sumeru, and offered as such. Praise the master: Not relying on parents, but manifested from a lotus. In order to subdue sentient beings, cut off the cycle of birth and death, and abide in the Vajra body. From the unbiased space, reveal the Buddha's intention to the fortunate ones. Skilled in subduing with various methods, making arrogant gods and demons swear oaths. Three bodies The accomplishment of the activities is more than all the Buddhas. I pay homage to the Vajra Garland Lotus Body, and praise it with devotion. Although he does not rejoice in the five desires, nor does he cling to enjoyment, he accepts with compassion in order to accumulate the merits of all sentient beings. Please have compassion on me and grant me the supreme meaning of the profound. In this way, with both hands holding the head, constantly praying. The master said: King Lhachig! Are you willing to offer this body to me? He replied that he was willing. Away from the diseases of the four elements, cut off the suffering of birth and death. Doing beneficial things for sentient beings, possessing supreme compassion. The mind is always abiding in the meaning of Dharma. I am willing to offer this body to you, the protector of sentient beings! After praying like this, the master said: The Buddha of a thousand kalpas.

Praises! Know the Guru to be supreme, Why do all the Buddhas of the kalpas, Arise by relying on the Gurus? Before there was a Guru, There was not even the name of Buddha. Thus it is said: The Guru is the Buddha, the Guru is the Dharma, Likewise, the Guru is the Sangha, Is the root of the Three Jewels. Having completely abandoned all offerings, One should truly make offerings to the Guru, Pleasing him, whatever desired accomplishments will arise. Thus it is said. Then, the king asked the master: Great Master, in order to accomplish the result of Buddhahood from the cause of sentient beings, The view of realization is most precious at the very beginning, What is it that possesses realization and view? The master said: The very essence of all views is the essence of Bodhicitta, All the great three-thousandfold world systems, And all the Sugatas of the ten directions, And all the sentient beings of the three realms are of one meaning, They all gather in the essence of Bodhicitta. That which is called mind is that which arises in various ways without being made. Now, what is the difference between sentient beings and Buddhas? There is no difference other than whether the mind is realized or not, The cause of Buddhahood is within oneself, but one does not recognize it, Because one does not recognize the nature of the mind, one wanders in the six realms. Now, what means are there to realize the mind? When asked, he said: For that, one needs the Guru's instructions. There is something called mind that is experienced as memory and awareness, Do not look at the mind outwardly, look inwardly, Search for the mind with the mind, Determine the nature of the mind. Where did that mind first come from? Where does it dwell now? Where will it ultimately go? Look at it. Then, when one looks at one's own mind, One does not find where it came from, where it dwells, or where it goes. Because it cannot be pointed out as being like this, The mind has no outside or inside, There is no seer or seen, It is the great wisdom that is free from extremes, Primordially empty, primordially free, vast and pervasive, Wisdom abiding in itself in its own place, It is not like what is done now, It is primordially abiding in itself, Recognizing that is said to be the view, it should be decisively determined. That which is called having confidence is: Like the sky, primordially spontaneously accomplished; Like the sun, the darkness of ignorance has no basis; Like the lotus, it is not stained by faults; Like gold, its meaning does not change from the nature of Dharma; Like the ocean
