Now that you have gained confidence, do not slander any Dharma. Even if you develop qualities such as samadhi and clairvoyance, abandon pride and arrogance. Even if you realize the non-duality of samsara and nirvana, do not cut off the continuity of compassion for sentient beings. Thus he spoke. Again, the king asked: What is the generation of definite knowledge? The teacher said: Generate definite knowledge that your own mind is primordially enlightened. Generate definite knowledge that all dharmas are manifestations of the mind. Generate definite knowledge that the fruit resides within oneself and cannot be sought from elsewhere. Generate definite knowledge that the lama is the actual Buddha. Generate definite knowledge that the meaning of view and meditation is the intention of the Buddha, and you must practice it. Thus he spoke. Again, the king asked: What is it to have oral instructions in the lineage? The teacher said: Kuntuzangpo blessed Vajrasattva's ear with this secret teaching. He poured it into the ear of the incarnate Garab Dorje. He placed it in the heart of Shri Singha. He gave me the lotus of his heart. May Trisong Detsen dwell in the center of your heart. Thus he spoke. The teacher advised the king: O divine lord! If you do not realize the one meaning of the unborn nature of reality, even if your body is born as a king, it is like a meaningless bubble of water for a blind person. If you do not enjoy the inconceivable nature of reality, power and kingship are like a rainbow painting. If awareness does not accompany the naturally arising friend, the lord and his retinue are like guests in an inn, each going their own way. If you do not meditate on the meaning of the abiding nature of view and meditation, the cycle of birth and death is like the turning of a waterwheel, revolving from one place to another. If the kingdom is not governed by the peaceful Dharma, even if laws are enforced, it is like a poisonous tree that will destroy itself. Great king, please practice the Dharma. Thus he advised. The teacher further advised: O king! In the final age, people want to say good things, but no one realizes them. Many claim to be practitioners but do not act according to the Dharma. In that time, there are few accomplished ones and many who boast. Tibet and China will be like birds whose lineage is cut off, difficult to tame. In that time, it is necessary to protect the Dharma and the teachings, so may the lord bury them as treasures. The lord himself will also meet with those who protect the Dharma and the teachings in his last rebirth and come. At that time, rebirth

Because of going to the realm of the Vidyadhara with unbroken lineage, he instructed not to transmit it to others. The master was extremely pleased and offered a golden mandala, and made countless prostrations and circumambulations. Treasure seal. Secret seal. Entrustment seal. Again, at that very moment, the king made prostrations and circumambulations and asked the master: Great master, I, a king like myself, have little faith, crave fame and profit, am not devoted to the Dharma, am malicious, have little virtuous intention, do much evil, do not abide in the Dharma, like distraction and merit, and although I have merit in this life, I have no fear of going to the lower realms in the next life. Please look upon me with compassion and grant me the essential instruction for attaining Buddhahood at the time of death. Then he searched with his head bowed, shedding tears. The master thought in his heart, extracted the essence of the essential instruction and gave it to him: Emaho! It is wonderful that faith arises from the depths of your heart! At the time of death, King, you need not worry, because I have the essential instruction of the secret mantra shortcut, which allows even the most sinful to attain Buddhahood first, and I possess the essential instruction without a bardo. Prince, you must live well! We are born by first entering the womb due to the cause of ignorance and the power of karma; in the middle, we live on the earth for a few years; and finally, at the time of death, the corpse goes to the earth; the mind, under the control of karma, wanders in samsara, taking bodies in the six realms. Therefore, even if we live to the end of our lives, it is only to the age of one hundred; half of that life is spent sleeping at night, like a corpse; in dreams, we experience various kinds of happiness and suffering; therefore, including appearances, there are only fifty years; this is still according to the perspective of living to one hundred years. If it is not like that, from birth to death is a natural law. To this, we act as if we will never die, engaging in various kinds of attachment and aversion, because we have not thought of death. The time of death is not fixed, and we do not know when we will die; there are many causes of death, and there is not even the certainty of not dying for a single day. King, you must live well! There are three ways of dying, superior, middling, and inferior. Dying like a king, clinging to your territory and possessions, is an inferior way of dying. The master said that at the time of death, one should not have attachment or clinging. Dying like a beggar is without any
