Also, from the seed syllable, wheels with rays of light emanate and gather, visualizing everything as a tent of wheels. Also, from the seed syllable, various weapons emanate and gather, visualizing everything as a tent of weapons. Also, from the seed syllable, flames of light emanate and gather, visualizing everything as a house of flames. This is profound for protecting retinues. Third, protecting with three syllables: Meditate on the three, body, speech, and mind, as the syllables of body, speech, and mind. As it says, visualize your own body as the nature of the body of all Buddhas, a single white Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡). Within that which becomes larger, visualize speech as the nature of the speech of all Buddhas, a single red Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आ,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿). Within that which becomes larger, visualize mind as the nature of the mind of all Buddhas, a single dark blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Thus, meditate and contemplate the three, body, speech, and mind, as having become the syllables of body, speech, and mind, without interruption, for this is only oneself. Fourth, protecting with the three-layered peaceful and wrathful deities: Meditate on Avalokiteśvara, Mañjuśrī, and whichever is your chosen deity. As it says, meditate on the noble Avalokiteśvara pervading the extent of what you want to protect. That is the nature of peace. In its heart, meditate on wrathful Mañjuśrī, the Yama slayer. That is the nature of wrath. In its heart, meditate on whichever is your chosen deity. That is the nature of non-duality. Thus, abiding in the indivisibility of peace and wrath, there is no interruption, this is profound for protecting places and regions. Fifth, the self-arisen, spontaneously accomplished protection: Meditate on the vajra ground, fence, tent, and arrows of fire. As it says, visualize the soles of the feet as a vajra ground, the ribs as a vajra fence, the skin as a vajra tent, the hair and body hair as a fence of arrows, and the teeth and nails as fiercely blazing fire. It is sufficient to know and remember that those are like that, this is profound for protecting oneself. Sixth, protecting with ultimate, signless reality: Rest in the state of non-objectification. As it says, the object to be interrupted, the obstructing Māras, and the nature of the interruption itself, these three, know them as the nature of being undifferentiated, free from elaboration, and non-objectified, and rest in the state of emptiness. Nothing can interrupt that, because emptiness cannot find a gap in emptiness. Those should also be fully visualized on the night of entering practice, and at appropriate times. At the beginning of the evening session, the bodhicitta of

Protecting and protecting without characteristics, whichever is accomplished should be done. Third, entering the path through the five key points: Entering the path through the five key points means that there are five ways to enter the Mahayana path through the five key points: establishing the foundation of Dharma through refuge; reciting the hundred-syllable mantra to purify obscurations; meditating on karma and impermanence to tame the mind; offering mandalas and tormas to accumulate merit; and making offerings to perfect merit. First: the three refuges of common, special, and supreme. Here there are two: a general teaching and a specific teaching. The first has five parts: First, the object of refuge is the Three Jewels, because they have the power to protect and are skillful in compassion. The first of the three, the Buddha, has three aspects: the essence is the manifestation of reality; the definition is the cessation of delusion and the increase of wisdom; the classification is either the two kayas, Dharmakaya and Rupakaya, or the three kayas, Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya, suchness and the realization of manifestation. Second, the Dharma has three aspects: the essence is complete purity; the characteristic is holding back from falling; the classification is either the two, cause and effect, or the three pitakas, or the nine vehicles. Third, the Sangha has three aspects: the essence is being separate from non-virtue; the definition is aspiring to virtue; the classification is the Sangha of external forms, the Sangha of the mind for the benefit of others, and the Sangha of true meaning. Second, the nature of relying on the three refuges is shown: what is to be accomplished by the Dharma is the Buddha, showing the Buddha's intention is the Dharma, and practicing the Dharma is the Sangha, so it is the nature of reliance. Third, there are three types of individuals who take refuge: the essence is entering after knowing the merits and faults of having taken refuge or not; the characteristic is an individual who has faith in cause and effect; the classification is three: Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Bodhisattvas, and secret mantra holders. Fourth, how to take refuge has two aspects: the common way of taking refuge is: having taken refuge in the Buddha, therefore one does not worship worldly gods; having taken refuge in the Dharma, therefore one does not harm sentient beings; having taken refuge in the Sangha, therefore one does not associate with heretics. There are three special ways of taking refuge: the constant refuge of practicing the Dharma, the refuge based on practice.
