First, regarding sinking: sinking, dullness, darkness, and so on are similar in meaning, all referring to sinking. Among them, sinking refers to not having found the natural radiance of awareness; dullness refers to not having grasped the experience of clarity; darkness refers to being mixed with sleep. Second, regarding excitement: agitation, restlessness, distraction, and movement are similar in meaning, all referring to excitement. Among them, agitation refers to the mind not wanting to stay in place; restlessness refers to staying for only a short time and not staying for long; distraction refers to consciousness engaging with external objects. There are two types of movement: subtle movement refers to unknowingly moving while thinking the mind is staying in place; self-movement refers to a subtle feeling arising in the midst of meditation, thinking "I am staying in place, I am being clear." There are two types of excitement: other-excitement refers to consciousness being excited by three external conditions; self-excitement refers to consciousness being scattered without any place to rest. In short, the root cause of both sinking and excitement is the same: consciousness is not fully engaged but is left in a state of indifference. The method for eliminating these two states: when sinking, place the mind in the heart, gather the consciousness, focus the attention, meditate with single-pointedness like a spear, with complete unity. This will prevent sinking and bring the mind back on track. When excited, place the mind below the navel, gather the consciousness, focus the attention, meditate like a stake. This will cause the mind to become completely absorbed in one object, eliminating distraction and excitement. In short, if you can become single-pointedly focused like a stake, both sinking and excitement will not arise. Third, transforming beneficial experiences into the path: when a good samadhi of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality arises, or when feelings of love, compassion, renunciation, or devotion arise from the depths of the heart, if you indulge in these feelings and engage in physical and verbal actions, these experiences will disappear like being blown away by the wind, creating actions that are controlled by others. Therefore, with the wisdom of understanding the interdependence of wind and mind, without making distinctions or attachments, look at the natural state of your own nature and abide in it, so that the nature of non-dual wisdom will appear, and let it develop naturally without cultivating attachment to experiences. Furthermore, if experiences such as joy, renunciation, or strong compassion arising forcefully and causing crying occur, recognize awareness, understand the key points of the view, and do not indulge in these feelings, but abide in the natural state. If you indulge in these feelings, illusions such as those of a king may arise. Fourth, transforming harmful experiences into assistance.

Therefore, no matter what happens, such as illness, pain, or heart-wind-phlegm, etc., take it as an experiential appearance, and do not be discouraged or proud. Since the appearing object and the grasping mind are self-arising and self-liberating, do not regard them as faults, nor cling to them as merits, but let them be self-arising and self-liberating, and cultivate naturally. Fifth, transforming harmless experiences into benefits: all samsaric and nirvanic dharmas are naturally accomplished in the alaya consciousness and exist in the form of seeds. The channels, letters, winds, and minds in the vajra body exist within it. Recognize them and meditate with samadhi as the key point, thereby realizing the self-nature of reality. The knots of the channels are untied, the wind and mind are purified, the habitual tendencies are eliminated, and the qualities are increased, so various appearances of samsara and nirvana will appear in the experience. If there are loopholes in these appearances, wind will enter; if conceptual thoughts arise, demons will arise. If you remain neutral, you will not be able to enter the right path, so you must regard everything as an experience. Do not regard anything as a fault, nor cling to it as a merit. Do not have hope or fear, nor have disputes or conflicts, but regard the three experiences, etc., as self-arising and self-liberating, adjust and cultivate them, so that everything will be transformed into benefits and progress. In short, when practicing, sometimes the mind is flexible, virtuous deeds increase, and the meditator will sing a long song; sometimes the mind is dull, virtuous deeds decrease, and consciousness is confused, so the meditator will feel empty. In short, since various high and low experiences will arise, do not be discouraged or proud, but grasp the key points without attachment and transform them into the right path. Do not be lax or excessive in practice, so that everything will be transformed into benefits and progress. Second, eliminating the obstacles of illness and suffering in the body: recognize and treat the root, cause, condition, and result of the disease. That is, recognize the root of the disease, the cause of its arising, the conditions that trigger it, and the result of its maturation, as well as the two methods of treating them. First, the root of the disease exists in the alaya consciousness and the channels, in the form of latent habitual tendencies. Second, the cause of its arising is ignorance and clinging to self, that is, accumulated negative karma. Third, the conditions that trigger it are afflictions, conceptual thoughts, and demons, etc. Fourth, recognize the mature results, that is, various diseases, mainly including hot and cold, phlegm, pain, indigestion, and swelling, etc., a total of four hundred and four diseases. Among them, the co-emergent disease is the main cause, the conceptually imputed disease is the condition, and any disease
