Lo! There, if thoughts of fear and aversion arise, focus your awareness single-pointedly. This fearful and frightening apparition of a ghost is because you have not recognized the appearance as a deity, but rather a dualistic thought of grasping it as a ghost has arisen, so it is the manifestation of its own nature. Your generation stage is just words and understanding remaining in the realm of the mind. Thinking, 'How can one attain enlightenment with that?' focus your awareness single-pointedly. Meditate on all beings, self and others, as deities. Bless your ordinary body as nectar and offer it to all those who primarily cause harm. Then, rest in the state of non-duality, free from elaboration. Similarly, as soon as ghostly apparitions and magical displays occur, thinking that it is the self-nature of the thought that grasps as a ghost because the meaning of the appearance as the deity's form has not been realized, think of it as a deity. Offer the body as a tsok offering. If it appears manifestly, recognize that both self and others are the key point of the deity, and thinking, 'How wonderful to meet the deity!' embrace it. Go into its mouth. Offer the ordinary body as a tsok offering. Then, when the appearance is recognized as a deity and the stream of ghostly thoughts is interrupted or ceases, the magical displays will naturally subside, and the local deities will be subdued. Fourth, if you have the view of the completion stage and understand the meaning of non-duality and freedom from extremes, cut through with that. That is, cut through fear and apprehension, thoughts of grasping at ghosts, and so on. To enhance the meaning of non-duality in the completion stage, go to a solitary place, take refuge, generate bodhicitta, and pray. Then, body and mind are non-dual, self and other, enemies and friends, gods and demons—in short, without any duality, rest in the state of non-duality and maintain that continuity without distraction. If magical displays and ghostly thoughts arise, thinking that it is the self-nature of the ghostly thought that has arisen because your awareness has not been focused single-pointedly, focus non-duality single-pointedly. Likewise, as soon as a ghostly thought arises, immediately rest in non-duality. If it appears manifestly, focus awareness non-dually and single-pointedly, and thinking, 'How wonderful that the view can be enhanced and the meaning of non-duality can be practiced!' approach it. Everything will become groundless, rootless, and empty, utterly transparent, because in the ultimate sense, nothing is established as truly existent.

O! Thereafter, when the meaning of non-duality arises in oneself, the moment dualistic appearances and clinging to conceptual thoughts cease or are cut off, the miraculous displays of the external world naturally subside. The moment the realization of non-duality arises, evil spirits and obstacles are subdued, because the key is that appearances and mind are interdependent. Therefore, when one's own mind abides, the demon also abides; when one's own mind subsides, the demon also subsides; when one's own mind is liberated, the demon is also liberated; when one's own mind is subdued, the demon is also subdued. Therefore, it is more effective to cut through one dangerous place than to meditate for three years. The secret conduct is not limited to demons and evil spirits alone, but also includes enemies and friends, rejection and acceptance, leprosy, epidemics, swellings, and all other frightening things; all disgusting things such as impurity and ugliness; and all disturbing things such as low status, weakness, shame, and so on. In short, treat any arising afflictions and conceptual thoughts as before. Third, the ultimate and perfect conduct of Suchness is that, in this way, common and general conduct lays the foundation of the path, and ascetic secret conduct increases strength, thereby achieving non-duality of gods and demons, and non-duality of purity and impurity. In short, the knot of dualistic clinging is untied, the taking and leaving of good and bad are exhausted, doubt and imputation are cut off, there are no taboos or astrological influences, there is no abandonment or practice, and there is no attachment or appearance. This mandala of samsara and nirvana, all of this merges into the single wave of non-dual wisdom, and nakedly appears as the nature of non-dual union of great bliss. At that time, even if Yama, the Lord of Death, comes with an iron hook, there will be no fear or anxiety; even if Buddha Vajrasattva appears, there will be no doubt or imputation to be cut off. That is called the conduct of Suchness. Therefore, this conduct is the foundation of the view, increases the power of the view, is the measure of practice, and is an extremely profound Dharma for ultimately realizing the fruit. Fifth, in order not to transgress what has been said above, the vows are taught: the five vows of Samata, Post-meditation, Consumption, Retention, and Protection. That is to say, each of the four empowerments has five vows of Samata, Post-meditation, Consumption, Retention, and Protection, totaling twenty-five vows. First, the Samata vow of the vase empowerment is to practice the generation stage, the Post-meditation vow is not to be separated from the deity, and the body and speech are not confused with the ordinary, the Consumption vow is the five meats and nectar,
