The Vaibhashika school asserts that atoms have intervals and are discrete entities with parts. The Sautrantika school asserts that atoms can either combine or not, without intervals, like a heap of fruit. Secondly, the method of practicing the path through meditation is determined by pith instructions: From the root text of "Secret Lord's Heart Drop": "Sravakas, at their own brow, meditate on the bone bindu as a skeleton, train in perceiving appearances as unattractive, establish through scripture and reasoning that the individual self that binds to samsara is non-existent, uproot the root of samsara, Samaya." (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ།) Among these, first, relying on the bursting of a blister that appears on one's forehead, meditate on a bone bindu the size of a white mustard seed. By focusing the mind on it, the bindu gradually increases in size, and one contemplates one's own body as being of the nature of a skeleton. In accordance with this, one contemplates all appearances and existences as a mandala of skeletons. What is the need for this? If this present body relies on objects and one's own continuum, the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance will arise. Afflictions are the cause of samsara, and from them, one experiences the result of suffering. As an antidote to this, by meditating on the wheel of bones and contemplating unattractive objects, attachment and aversion will not arise. By cutting off the root of the afflictions of origination, the suffering of the result will naturally cease, and that is the truth of the path. At this time, although it is not mentioned to recite the dharani of pure morality and to meditate on selflessness, if one wishes to practice the recollection of the deity, one should perform the recitation, contemplation, and chanting according to the Sravaka vehicle of Avalokiteshvara Padmagtsugtor. Even if one does not do so, there is no fault of transgression. "Sravaka holding the discipline, Manjushri" (Tibetan: ཉན་ཐོས་ཚུལ་བཟུང་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས༔) refers to Shariputra, "Sravaka holding the discipline, Avalokiteshvara" (Tibetan: ཉན་ཐོས་ཚུལ་བཟུང་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས༔) refers to Ananda, and "Sravaka holding the discipline, Secret Lord" (Tibetan: ཉན་ཐོས་ཚུལ་བཟུང་གསང་བའི་བདག༔) refers to Maudgalyayana. Their emblems are: Ananda holding a whisk, Shariputra holding a jewel, and Maudgalyayana holding a lotus. The meaning established by the view mentioned above is to meditate on that very selflessness. As it is said: "Appearances are like illusions, they do not exist in reality. It is not permissible to fall into nihilism, therefore, I have not taught this to childish Sravakas." That is to say, in order to counteract attachment, one practices the contemplation of unattractiveness, etc. After making the mind of shamatha workable, one practices vipassana by meditating on the four truths and sixteen aspects.

Third, enhancing through the practice of companionship: In whichever of the seven assemblies of individual liberation one has entered, one should take the teachings as the path, abide in the merits of practice, abandon afflictions like enemies and thorns, take up the ten virtues like medicine and food, and rely on the ten perceptions. The ten perceptions are: The perception of seeing killing as a potent poison... eating it leads to ruin. 1. The perception of seeing clothing as a bandage for a wound... not separating from the three Dharma robes. 2. The perception of seeing afflictions as poisonous snakes... touching them leads to ruin. 3. The perception of seeing food as eating the flesh of one's own child... not generating craving. 4. The perception of seeing gain and honor as nets and traps... fearing entanglement and fleeing. 5. The perception of seeing the lama and the Three Jewels as precious jewels... offering and praying with reverence. 6. The perception of seeing the Dharma as a good path... traveling in comfort. 7. The perception of seeing the Buddha's teachings as gold... rare and excellent, obtaining them is meaningful. 8. The perception of seeing discipline as an ornament... cherishing and storing it. 9. The perception of seeing the manifestation of Dharma-nature as raising a lamp in a dark room... not abandoning diligence in meditation. 10. Not separating from it. Fourth, the manner in which the fruits manifest: Obtaining Stream-enterer, Once-returner, and Non-returner, these are temporary fruits; and ultimately obtaining the Arhat with remainder and without remainder, possessing the two wisdoms of knowing exhaustion and knowing non-arising. Each of the four fruits is further divided into two positions, entering and abiding, thus there are eight positions. In terms of the basis of division, they are called the four pairs of individuals; in terms of the Dharma of division, they are called the eight types of persons. Third, the view of our own school: As it is said in the Ornament for Clear Realization: "To eliminate the conceptualization of the object of apprehension, and to not abandon grasping, the path of dependent arising like an illusion, should be known as well-gathered." As it is said, realizing the selflessness of persons is the same as the Hearers, and on top of that, realizing that the apprehended aspect of the self of phenomena, the subtle particles, are without inherent existence, but still seeing the moment of the apprehending mind as truly existent, and believing that samsara and nirvana are the cause and effect of dependent arising, therefore it is called realizing one and a half selflessness. In the Stages of Views by Kawa Paltseg, it says: "Likewise, the vehicle of our own school, also in the ten external...
