This is called the wisdom of emptiness in essence. Isn't there a clear and unceasing manifestation of that emptiness, naturally clear? This is called the wisdom of self-luminousness. The essence of mind is emptiness, nothing is established, and its power is unceasing, appearing in various ways. These two are only different in name and word, but in reality, they are non-dual awareness, bright and clear. This is called the wisdom of all-pervading compassion. Because it is the leader in thinking, it is named "mind." Because it is the leader in recalling things that should not be recalled, it is named "memory." Because it is the leader in distinguishing all differences like the patterns of peacock feathers, it is named "discriminating wisdom." This moment of awareness, because no shape or color is established, is free from the bondage of permanence. Although it is non-existent, it exists clearly and distinctly, so it is free from the bondage of annihilation. It is not from this time that it arose, nor is it caused by this condition, so it is free from the bondage of arising. It is not at this time that the mind dies or ceases, so it is free from the bondage of cessation. Although it is non-existent, the power of non-cessation manifests as anything, so it is free from the bondage of oneness. Although it appears in various ways, it is liberated in selflessness, so it is free from the bondage of multiplicity. Therefore, this is called the view of the Middle Way free from extremes. The understander, the experiencer, the viewer, the meditator, the practitioner, the knower, in an instant, he himself recognizes himself in the absence of an object, therefore it is called Prajnaparamita. For whatever phenomena arise from the six consciousnesses, without the need to accept or reject, abandon or establish, construct or modify with attention, it is naturally liberated in an instant, therefore it is called Mahamudra. In one's own mind, whatever phenomena appear that are not mixed with the aspects of samsara and nirvana, at the moment of appearance, it is completely fulfilled in the essence of momentary awareness, therefore it is called Dzogchen. Stopping or purifying all thoughts, habitual patterns, mind, mental factors, defilements, and realizing the primordially pure Dharmakaya with the net of awareness wisdom, this is called the view of Trekchö of the ground. On the level of the essence of the moment, there is not even the name called ignorance, therefore it is co-emergent wisdom, the perfection of the nature of reality, suchness, ultimate truth, Tathagatagarbha, self-nature clearness.

Pure, without limit, union, beyond mind, single bindu, and Dharmadhatu, wisdom, emptiness, pacifier, ultimate meaning, secret mantra, awareness power, self-born wisdom, primordial purity, etc., are its many names. Thus, the mind free from elaboration is the Dharmakaya, clear and without grasping is the Sambhogakaya, the uninterrupted manifestation of various appearances is the Nirmanakaya, the essence, nature, and compassion are inseparable. Therefore, by recognizing one's own mind in an instant, all phenomena encompassed by samsara and nirvana are understood. As it is said in the "Nomenclature": "With great wisdom, in an instant, holding all phenomena in understanding." Thus it is said. Thus, for the introduction to self-nature, the common and विशेष arising from the Dzogchen tantras, agamas, and upadeshas, especially the introduction to self-nature of Karma Lingpa's Peaceful and Wrathful Deities, Naked Seeing Self-Liberation, is the practice of generating faith. Second, the need for familiarization is that, although one has only attained the realization of recognizing one's own face, if one does not gain stability through continuous familiarization, it is meaningless. Therefore, beginners need to protect and meditate with unforgetting mindfulness. Just as when taming an untamed wild horse, one needs to tame it with unforgetting diligence, and if one is distracted, just as the horse runs away, one falls and is destroyed. Here too, if a beginner is distracted, conceptual thoughts will run to oneself, fall into the lower realms, and be destroyed. Therefore, it is very important to maintain practice with unforgetting mindfulness. As it is said in the "Treasury of Instructions": "Although self-nature has been recognized, if familiarization is not complete, conceptual thoughts are like enemies, taking away the little child on the battlefield. Although wisdom is vast, if it has not become experience, it cannot be used when needed, like losing a weapon on the battlefield." And so on, there are many such sayings. Third, the way to maintain practice is, the scripture says: "When meditating, do not meditate on anything, in the Dharmadhatu there is nothing to meditate on." Therefore, so-called meditation is without a target, not contaminated by antidotes and mental effort, naturally abiding without distraction, this is called meditation. As it is said in the "Secret Nectar King Tantra": "Self-nature is emptiness and luminosity, it is not obtained by meditation, it is not obtained by not meditating either. Meditation itself is conceptual thought, not meditating is also conceptual thought. There is not a speck to meditate on, an instant without distraction is it." Thus. That is, relax the reins of body, speech, and mind, and do not be distracted.
