Therefore, by maintaining a distant gaze effortlessly, the nature of non-conceptuality clearly manifests as awareness without an object. Secondly, the main practice involves introducing the arising of the two, which is divided into two: the three methods of cultivation, and the method of stabilizing realization. The first has three parts: abiding and moving are non-dual. First, understanding abiding as the ornament of the mind, as stated in the "Precious Lamp Sutra": "From the nature of the three abidings, the meaning of primordial purity is revealed." Therefore, the mountain king's abiding is: the body remains unmoving in the vajra posture. The ocean's abiding is: the eyes gaze straight ahead, an arrow's length away, without moving. The abiding of awareness is: naturally remaining in equanimity within the nature of reality. By abiding in this way, the mind's negations, affirmations, virtues, sins, acceptances, rejections, and other elaborations are pacified. This is the very nature of abiding in the primordial wisdom of co-emergent clarity and emptiness. As stated in the "Decisive Treatise": "In the essence of primordial purity wisdom, the existence of ignorance is impossible. There is no count of one or two. In the nature of reality, which is not divided anywhere, only wisdom is established, without anything else." And as stated in the "Self-Arisen Treatise": "Transcending the extremes of permanence and annihilation, the stains of the four extremes are self-purified." Therefore, at that time, the experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality of vipassanā arise. Naked awareness, clear and unobstructed, self-knowing, self-illuminating, clear and bright. In this, there is no object or subject of meditation, so it is non-conceptual. In this, there is no effort, abiding in its own nature, so it is blissful. Then, the realization of vipassanā is: the previous experiences of object and subject are gradually purified, and each moment of whatever arises manifests as objectless self-awareness. Therefore, the realization of vipassanā manifests as bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. Clarity arises because the original, objectless nature manifests. Non-conceptuality arises because there is no concept of object and subject. Bliss arises because awareness and emptiness are inseparable, so it is called bliss. Secondly, understanding moving as the play of the mind, as stated in the "Jeweled Garland Sutra": "Unobstructed potential manifests in any way. From the very moment of arising, it is liberated in its own place. The word 'liberation' cannot be expressed. Likewise, what about those who are not liberated?" Therefore, just as waves arise from the ocean but do not go beyond the ocean, so too, whatever thoughts arise in the mind do not go beyond the nature of reality, primordial purity. Therefore, for any arising thought, do not engage in welcoming or sending off,

Letting the self-arisen state rest naturally is to realize that thoughts are the play of dharmata, thus transcending the realm of acceptance and rejection, affirmation and negation. However it arises, from the moment of its arising, there is no need for an antidote; it is self-liberated like a snake's knot. As Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) said, "Clouds, mists, and vapors, though they arise, dissolve into the sky." Like this, do not view any arising thought as a fault, nor follow after it. In a state of non-distraction, whatever thoughts arise are all the play of awareness, so do not suppress them, but let them be, and they will self-liberate in their original place of arising. Third, the arising and abiding are non-dual, like waves arising in the ocean: When abiding, they appear in various forms; when arising, they are free from grasping and being grasped; when equal, there is no clinging to them. Outwardly, appearances manifest in various ways, yet the mind is not disturbed by these appearances, like the direct perception of the senses. Inwardly, various things arise, yet there is no clinging to them, like a mother's child in a dream. The six aggregates of objects are used in various ways, yet there is no acceptance or rejection, no hope or fear, like the consciousness of a young child. Thoughts subside in the field of appearance, like salt dissolving in water. Whatever arises is free from grasping, like a madman without hope or fear. In short, when the mind does not cling to the appearance of objects, it is called realizing the emptiness of outer and inner. The meaning of this is found in the Tantra of the Heart Essence of Self-Liberation: "All that is conceptualized, outer and inner, is primordially empty and liberated." Thus, when the mind abides, it returns to its original state; when it arises, it manifests as the play of wisdom; when it is equal, it rests in the realm of non-duality. No matter what, it never goes beyond the play of dharmata. At that time, do not abandon conceptual thoughts, for they are primordially liberated, so you gain the certainty of not seeking a ground for further liberation. Whatever arises is liberated in its own place, so you gain the certainty of not relying on the antidote of mindfulness and grasping. The six objects are liberated in naked awareness, so you gain the certainty of being free from the consciousness that grasps before and after. Knowing that good and bad are completely liberated, you gain the certainty of abandoning the effort of taking and rejecting, and biased clinging. As the Thallgyur says, "Self-awareness is free from all thoughts, possessing the four great liberations. Primordially liberated, there is no re-liberation; self-liberated, there is no antidote; nakedly liberated, it vanishes in the seeing; completely liberated, there is no effort." In short, this awareness of whatever arises is free from contrivance, abiding in self-arising, and thus liberated in self-liberation, certain.
