and so on. Physical exercise is beneficial to the mind. So it is said. Second, the oral training is: According to one's own treatise, there are four types of oral training, namely: blessing, exercising, kneading, and entering the path. So it is said. First, blessing is divided into two types, the blessing of external appearance is: With the body posture, visualize a blue Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) in the heart. Then, pronounce the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sound sweetly and long, and visualize that from the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) in the heart, many Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) lights burst out and come out from the right nostril, filling the container world with Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) from houses and places to infinite space. Second, the blessing of the inner aggregates is: Again, pronounce the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sound as before, and visualize that each of the outer Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) enters the left nostril one by one. Finally, none are left outside, and all enter the body, filling everything from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet. The sign of accomplishment is that the nature of the external appearance appears as unreal, and one feels discomfort in the inner body. Therefore, it is necessary to liberate the external appearance and the inner aggregates from selflessness. Second, exercising is divided into two types, the exercising of external appearance is: Pronounce the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sound strongly, and visualize that from the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) in the heart, many dark blue Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sounds, as sharp as a razor, as fierce as a huge arrow, as fast as the wind, and as hot as a flame, possessing four characteristics, corresponding to the external objects, come out from the left nostril, turning all appearances into ashes, empty and clear, completely cleared, and visualize them being trained into unreality. Again, second, the exercising of the inner aggregates is: Pronounce the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sound as before, and visualize that those outer Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sounds, about an elbow's length, penetrate one's own body from front, back, top, and bottom without obstruction, and finally turn them into unreality. The sign of accomplishment is that the external appearance is unreal, and the inner body's muscles twitch and ache, and experiences like water moons appear. Therefore, it is necessary to liberate the external appearance from unreal luminosity and the inner aggregates from the rainbow body. Third, kneading is: Pronounce the word Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) orally, and visualize oneself as a black Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) and in front of it, visualize a red Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). From that black Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum), emanate a chain of black Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) sounds, wrap around the red Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) in front, then unravel again and wrap around the black Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). Wrap back and forth in this way.

Finally, after much winding, it became like Mount Meru. Again, from that red Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable, a string of Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllables arose and wound counterclockwise around the black Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable, and after much winding back and forth, the red Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable became like a mountain. Then the black Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable wound clockwise around the red one, and the red one wound counterclockwise around the black one, making "lili" sounds. After contemplating that the two Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllables were joined together, wandering and frolicking to the left, right, front, and back, etc., they dissolved into their respective strings of Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllables, and the two became smaller and smaller, until focusing on two mustard-seed-sized red and black bindus, letting the mind rest there, and finally contemplating that they also vanished like being without inherent existence. In between these, rest and slowly clarify the object of focus. The sign of proficiency is being able to transform the object of focus at will. This is necessary to make the mind focused and flexible. Fourth, introducing the path: Contemplate your body, mind, and prana as being unified into a single cubit-long white Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable. Draw a line in front like a worm crawling, and slowly recite the Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable, contemplating walking along that path, barely touching the ground, and resting at the turns. Then quickly recite "Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,)", contemplating walking very quickly. Then contemplate returning from that path. Once accustomed to this, walk in the same way through all the places you have and have not been to, cities, bridges, forests, plains, pastures, monasteries, etc. Also, go to all the places in the six realms, such as the hells, and contemplate that wherever that Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable arrives, all impure appearances vanish like rainbows. Again, by reciting the Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable forcefully, contemplate that the Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable extends into space, going to the five Buddhafields such as Ghanavyuha, Abhirati, Shrimat, Sukhavati, and Karmarabhisamhara, making prostrations and offerings to the lords of the families, listening to the Dharma, and receiving prophecies, etc. The sign of proficiency is that initially, experiences of joy and sorrow with varying degrees arise, and ultimately, uncontaminated wisdom arises in the mindstream. This is necessary to purify impure places and manifest pure Buddhafields. As it says in the Thallgyur: "Speech abides in the Hum (ཧཱུྃ,hum,हूँ,hūm,) syllable, to seal, practice, and tame."
