Then the glorious Vajra Holder, being extremely wrathful, will destroy your body, speech, and mind into particles. Therefore, each of you return to your own place! Recite the four Hum mantras and strike with white mustard seeds and lime. Then, meditate on the protection wheel: the outer layer is entirely a tent of great wisdom fire; inside that is a tent of weapons; inside is a tent of wheels; inside that is a tent of vajras; inside that is a tent of jewels; inside that are tents of lotuses and, crossed vajras, swords, and phurbas; inside that, in a jewel palace, think that the teacher, offerings, people, and wealth are all included. Then, scatter flowers, offer the mandala, and pray: Great teacher, inseparable from Heruka, please consider us! The Lama says: All of you gathered here, with faith as the foundation, diligence as a friend, and joy, generate the mind of enlightenment, and meeting and practicing the Dharma of the Great Vehicle is very wonderful! It is difficult to be born, born in the southern continent of Jambudvipa; it is difficult to obtain, obtaining the precious human body; it is difficult to meet, meeting the Dharma of the Great Vehicle, this arises from accumulating merit in the past, cultivating the continuum, and making aspirations! Etc., as well as the law of karma, the difficulty of obtaining leisure and opportunity, the impermanence of death, the faults of samsara, and the benefits of liberation. Alaya, the basis of liberation, the basis of delusion, etc., are explained. Then, recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra and confess sins: Homage! Samantabhadra Buddha and the Five Buddha Families, May the peaceful and wrathful deities and vast retinue be mindful of me! From beginningless time until now, I confess all the sins committed by my body, speech, and mind! Recite this three times. It is explained that purification is achieved by confessing sins, and increase is achieved by accumulating merit. Then, taking refuge: The object of refuge, the Three Roots, the peaceful and wrathful deities, are visualized in the sky in front, and oneself and all sentient beings recite with the intention of taking refuge: Those who fill the sky in the realm of the sky, Gurus, Yidams, Dakinis, and all the assemblies, Buddhas, Dharma, and the Sangha of noble ones, I and all beings respectfully take refuge! Recite this three times. Generating Bodhicitta: From this day forth, Until I attain enlightenment, Following in the footsteps of the Vidyadharas and Buddha-sons, I will manifest the essence of the profound secret, And establish beings in the realm of Samantabhadra's five lights. Recite this three times to generate Bodhicitta. Then, taking the vows: In the Vajra family's vows, With the mudra of the vajra bell, Hold the symbol of the meaning of the view of emptiness, This is the Vajra family's vow. In the Ratna family's vows, Generosity, fearlessness, Dharma, and love, Always give charity at all times, This is the Ratna family's vow. In the Padma family's vows, Free from the faults of attachment, complete with qualities, Rely on the view and meditation of the true nature of meaning, This is the Padma family's vow. In the Karma family's vows, Assemblies and virtuous deeds, Rely on the true nature of the meaning of the result, This is the Karma family's vow. In the Buddha family's vows, Strive diligently in the three trainings, Generate the mind for supreme enlightenment, This is the Buddha family's vow. Recite this three times to take the vows. Then, the Karma Vajra Acharya holds the Karma vase: Hum! Vajra sharp, the cutter, Drink this purifying nectar water, May the obscurations of karma Arising from body, speech, and mind be purified!
