Ye! Generate the mind of no return, and contemplate in your mind the suffering of heat and cold in hell, the suffering of hunger and thirst of pretas, the suffering of animals devouring each other and being exploited, the suffering of gods being distracted and falling, and the various sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, and death of humans. Remember in your mind the pure lands of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and contemplate, think, and be aware without ceasing. Eventually, the experience of remembering and thinking disappears, becoming blank, and you can't remember anything, staying alone in shame. At that time, from the gap between the arising of thoughts and non-thoughts, distinguish the boundary between samsara and nirvana, and recognize non-thought as the state of Buddha. At the same time, recognize the meaning of head, perfection, and mudra all at once, which is something to be understood separately. Secondly, the detailed explanation of the common "cutting through" practice of Mahamudra and Dzogchen is divided into three parts: the four key points or three ways of settling to make unborn meditation arise; the guidance of Shamatha-Vipassana union to put the arisen meditation into practice; and based on that, the ultimate achievement through the practice of taming methods and pith instructions. The first part is: the key points or settling methods of the body machine. That is, if the body is straight, the channels are straight; if the channels are straight, the prana is straight; if the prana is straight, the mind is straight; if the mind is straight, there is a need to learn the state of Buddha. Therefore, abandon all external activities of the body such as farming, etc., which are the actions of samsara; abandon all internal practices of prostrations and circumambulations, etc., which are the practices of the afterlife; abandon any secret activities of the body. The body is to be arranged in the posture of the seven features of Vairochana: on a comfortable cushion, sit in the vajra posture; place both hands in the samadhi mudra, four fingers below the navel; keep the spine straight like an arrow; spread the shoulders like the wings of a vulture; bend the neck slightly like an iron hook; the tongue touches the upper palate; the eyes gaze at the space in front of the tip of the nose, without doing anything. There are two ways to settle the key points of the body: settle without any tilting or swaying, like driving a stake into the ground; and settle comfortably and naturally, without applying any force, like a sack of wool with the rope cut. If you know how to properly arrange the body's posture, meditation will arise naturally.

Field. If you don't understand, even if you meditate, you won't generate merit, and it will become an obstacle instead, so be careful about this and do it for three days. Don't meditate on anything else. Regarding the way of looking, the key point of the eyes is: because the key point of the eyes and consciousness is the same, don't half-open or half-close your eyes, don't wander around, don't look to the side or corners, don't be too high, don't be too low, but look at about four fingers in front of you, watching like a standing spear. If the way of looking is in accordance with the key point, then meditation will arise naturally. If it doesn't conform to the key point, then what is in accordance with the way of meditation will not arise. Therefore, the way of looking is very important. Regarding the key point of the breath or the method of settling speech: breath and mind are co-emergent, so the key point of breath is very important. As mentioned above, in the state where the body conforms to the seven-point posture, exhale three times the impure air, and then slowly inhale fresh air, maintaining a moderate length, exhaling the old air and inhaling the new air. In this way, meditation arises naturally. If it is not like this, because the breath is rough, the mind will not naturally abide, but will scatter outwards, so a qualified meditation will not arise. Regarding the aspect of speech, external verbal actions, such as worldly false speech, jokes, etc., and internal actions, such as all Dharma practices that transcend the world, must be abandoned. Secret actions, even just reciting mantras, should not be recited, but should be separated from the expression of speech. There are two methods of settling speech: the method of settling like a mute without speaking, and like the lips of a painted statue, without opening or closing, but keeping a slight smile. Regarding the key point or method of settling the mind: external mental actions, such as all evil thoughts of worldly false thoughts, evil thoughts, etc.; internal actions, such as all good thoughts of generating deities, etc., that transcend the world; secret actions, such as all mind-holding, contemplation, and attention, must be abandoned. There are three methods of settling the mind: do not follow past thoughts, do not welcome future thoughts, and the present awareness, keep it original, natural, without support, unartificial, without thought, relaxed, and place it like a corpse. In this state, do not use the effort of settling awareness to contract or expand, but place it like a garuda soaring in the sky. Its essence should not remain in a state of non-conceptuality, but let awareness be clear and bright in itself, like the sun and moon separated from clouds. Like this, for the four key points or three methods of settling, do it for seven days or five days, three days, etc.
