The method of practicing from the qualified Okkhar pedestal: That is, the cushion should be square and flat inside, without any support on the left or right. The body posture is with the legs slightly crossed, the meditation belt tied between the abdomen and the knees, and the knees slightly drawn in. The arms of both hands should be crossed with moderate tightness, or embraced like an upright person. The meditation Okkhar should be made of fragrant and warm wood, and should be upright. Its height should be three finger-widths of one's middle finger, and its thickness should be like the thinnest willow twig. The waist should be like the neck of a vase, the base should be round, and the top should be a crescent-shaped Ok-tegh equal to the palm of the hand. A soft cushion made of silk or cotton wool should be inserted four fingers above the meditation belt. Insert the Okkhar, and use it as a supporting stake, like the life force, without shaking or trembling. The eyes should look straight ahead, aiming at the sky like an upright spear. Breathe slowly, and without any distractions in the mind, practice the spontaneously accomplished clear light appearance without any discrimination or attachment. That is, practice without distraction for even a moment in a state beyond thought. If one is distracted by following mental events, the profound manifest appearance will disappear. At that time, do not make any special effort, but simply press the tips of the two middle fingers together slightly. By doing so, the profound clear light appearance will appear vividly and clearly. Do not defile the naturally arising appearance of the ground with concepts of affirmation, negation, certainty, or grasping, but practice by merging oneself into the single, effortless ground reality, like stone and bone fused together. Sometimes, cover the eyes with both palms and look. In general, when all external and internal tangible things are obscured and nothing can be seen, whatever appears, practice without any modification, affirmation, or negation. Until one reaches the level of liberation, whether in daytime or nighttime appearances, one should unhesitatingly illuminate everything with the self-arising lamp of wisdom, and there is no other way than to practice non-action and effortlessness. The above is the method of taking the main points as essential and practicing them in the present moment of manifestation. Third, in order to make the subsequent enhancement effective, the method of extending the appearance is used to bring the practice to its culmination, which is divided into three aspects: The daytime appearance of...

Regarding methods to enhance the experience of practice, there are methods to enhance the experience of practicing with nocturnal appearances, and methods to enhance the experience of blending day and night practice. The first is: it is crucial to learn to adjust the posture and guide oneself to a corner. No matter how profound luminosity appears, one should engage in recognition and identification, and eliminate the mental effort of hope and fear. Without a moment's distraction, one should practice intently in a state of non-thought. There is no key to manifestation greater than this. Furthermore, in between intervals, in the shadows, one should place all activities of body, speech, and mind in their original state, to relax for a moment. And guiding oneself to the corner of a target such as the sun, adopting a new posture, fresh awareness, fresh relaxation, and also fresh wisdom of profound manifestation. Cutting off the appearance of the first instant, a beginner should continue short but diverse practices, which is essential for maturing the radiance of wisdom. Furthermore, bathing and wiping with camphor water, and guiding oneself to the sunlight, is essential for increasing the radiance of wisdom. In addition, one can look at the moon, mirrors, candles, crystals, the windows of houses, and bowls filled with water, and guide oneself to a corner for practice. If these things do not have five-colored radiance, then one should guide oneself to the sun and moon, and then look at and guide oneself to these things again. Furthermore, when looking at the moon, applying the yellow yolk of a black hen's egg around the eyes will have a greater effect. During the day, when the sun (Tibetan: སཱུརྻ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सूर्य, Sanskrit Romanization: sūrya, Chinese literal meaning: sun) appears, covering it with red and black silk or a similar cloth will have a greater effect, and the elements will also become balanced. When looking at a candle, applying camphor and sandalwood water to the eyes will prevent them from becoming weak or fatigued. The key to everything is to hold the breath slowly, to breathe with the mouth open, and that the three activities of body, speech, and mind do not separate or move. By practicing in this way, when new manifest wisdom matures and appears, if the effort of recognition and identification is not lost, then the self-radiance of the first instant will mature, therefore one should practice intently in a state of unconsciousness. However, the thought of recognition and identification will instantly obscure wisdom and cause it to disappear. Therefore, one should manifest in a state of unconsciousness, in a non-contrived way.
