Bringing the ground to its ultimate conclusion: When realization dawns in this way, and both meditative equipoise and post-meditation arise, the post-meditation cognition that arises is not realization because the very nature of the path of seeing changes. The experience of signs obscures the nature, so it is post-meditation cognition. When it abides in the state of realization, awareness does not grasp at objects but remains self-luminous. In the past, in the aspect of not having experienced signs, awareness does not abandon signs but purifies them in their own place, and the power of realization enhances them. Realizing in this way, the experience of abiding and the movement both arise in dependence on each other. Therefore, realizing the meaning of abiding in the nature of a moment and experiencing what is and is not, purifies the stains of experience. Realization does this, purifying the subtle and coarse post-appearances below the path of culmination in stages, and even the more subtle ones, by not abandoning them but recognizing their own nature. Furthermore, on the single moment of meditative equipoise, one must know how to apply both restraint and release. Restraining the awareness that arises from its own moment prevents it from falling into movement below. Because there is no effort to tighten in the state of arising in its own moment, releasing it clarifies and illuminates the meaning, making it essential. Afterwards, one must recognize both faults and virtues on a single moment. In post-meditation, any realization that suddenly arises is a moment until it ceases. On top of that, recognizing both faults and virtues is the nature of a moment. The virtue is that it is inherently free from all elaboration. The fault is not recognizing its own nature. Recognizing virtue, whatever conceptual thought arises, one does not need to block it like the Hearers, but it arises as the Dharmakaya. Therefore, transforming the ground into the path and recognizing faults, one cuts off subtle and coarse conceptual thoughts and progresses on the path in stages. Finally, one must also recognize up to the very end of the tenth ground. There, not recognizing non-conceptual thought, it is said that it comes for the duration of a finger snap. Not recognizing that aspect is the fault. Recognizing it, one can connect the path with the result. In general, during the stage of the path, if the merit of skillful means has no power, then it has gone to mere skillful means, which is a sign of attachment to objects and signs. Therefore, one should understand the meaning that all phenomena are without inherent existence, and the three spheres should be completely free from conceptual thought. In this way, skillful means and wisdom are united, and power is enhanced. If the merit of wisdom has no power,

If wisdom is solely inclined towards emptiness, it is a sign of straying from the path, therefore, prioritize cause and effect, cultivate understanding of dependent origination, and place the means of skillful methods at the crucial point, so that progress can be made. If calm abiding (shamatha) does not progress, it is a sign of not having encountered the true nature and falling into mere abiding. Therefore, observe your own mind to enhance insight (vipashyana). If insight does not progress, it means that the experience of abiding lacks moisture, and it is the fault of not pacifying the scattering and agitated thoughts. Therefore, rely on non-distracted awareness and mindfulness to enhance calm abiding. In short, whichever aspect of skillful means and wisdom is lacking, strengthen that aspect to achieve union. In general, it is said that prolonging meditation and making it continuous is the best way to progress. Furthermore, regarding the three types of thoughts—good, bad, and neutral—the three types of afflictions—gross, subtle, and very subtle—illness, suffering, the aggregates, the eight worldly concerns, and the three types of beings—gods, demons, and humans—whatever favorable or unfavorable conditions arise in one's mind, do not follow them, do not accept or reject them, do not obstruct or not obstruct them, do not tame or not tame them, do not transform or not transform them, but directly recognize them, and whatever arises, do not lose awareness for a moment, but carry it onto the path in its natural state, so that progress can be made and the end of the path can be reached. Third, the preliminaries of the profound path of clear light Tögal involve training the key points of body, speech, and mind, which are threefold: First, to align the body posture with dependent origination, train the body; second, to guide the clear light of the nature of reality into manifestation, train speech and mind with the assembly of letters of the clear light form; and third, to transform the wisdom of manifest clear light into self-appearance on the basis of unconsciousness and transcendence of mind, train to settle the body, speech, and mind into their natural state and abide effortlessly in their own way. The first aspect is: The body is in the vajra posture, with the soles of the feet together, the heels pressed against the perineum, the body upright, the hands joined together without touching the crown of the head, and the upper and lower ends are made to resemble the three points of a vajra. And visualize it in a color that corresponds to one's own element. Those born in the years of the Rat, Ox, and Tiger should visualize a white water body. Those born in the years of the Rabbit, Dragon, and Snake should visualize a yellow earth body. Those born in the years of the Horse, Sheep, and Monkey should visualize a red fire body. The Bird
