First, visualize the root guru, whose kindness is vast, in the form of Guru Padmasambhava, surrounded by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions and abiding. Visualize yourself surrounded by all sentient beings of the six realms who have not yet been liberated. Visualize them taking refuge with one voice. As you recite "Terrifying cliff of evil destinies, we," etc., recite hundreds and thousands of refuge verses, and merge them with your mind. At the end, visualize light radiating from the bodies of the refuge objects, purifying all the sins and obscurations of yourself and others just by touching them. All sentient beings go to the pure land with a clamorous sound. Visualize the refuge objects dissolving into light and gradually merging into yourself. Then, dedicate the merit in an appropriate way, such as "By this merit, may all beings." When sleeping, do not destroy the object of visualization, but prefer to sleep with your head facing it. Fall asleep by maintaining devotion and visualization. In this way, the excellent Three Jewels that liberate from the cliff of outer samsara, the guru who is the embodiment of all inner sacred objects, and the secret that whatever arises is the guru's form, playing in the nature of reality, should be learned to take refuge in. Fourth, the precepts and necessities are: In terms of external aspects, the three precepts to be abandoned as taught in the Nirvana Sutra are: do not prostrate to worldly deities, abandon harm, and do not associate with heretics. The three precepts to be practiced that arise from the guru's instructions are: respect broken statues, respect a single letter, and respect those who wear red and yellow robes. The three corresponding precepts that arise from the root are: rely on a spiritual friend, study the Dharma, and hold the signs of red and yellow. In terms of inner aspects, practice mantras and time wheel offerings. In terms of secret aspects, study the three aspects of view, meditation, and conduct. In this way, temporarily obtain inconceivable merit, and ultimately attain Buddhahood. Second, there are five points to generating Bodhicitta: the object of generating Bodhicitta, the individual who generates it, the ritual of receiving it, the precepts and necessities, and the benefits. The first point is: the teacher who generates Bodhicitta, in terms of external aspects, should have generated supreme Bodhicitta and possess compassion; in terms of inner aspects, should possess the three wisdoms and realize the meaning of selflessness; in terms of secret aspects, should realize the meaning of the original nature. Second, the individual who generates it is: the one who generates Bodhicitta, in terms of outer aspects,

Thus, one feels aversion to the inferior path. Inwardly, one reduces elaboration on it. Secretly, one's mind turns towards the definitive secret Dharma. The third is the ritual of taking: The ritual of generating bodhicitta has three parts: preliminary, main part, and conclusion. The preliminary is accumulating merit with the seven branches. The main part is the first of the three statements, which is aspiration bodhicitta. The second is entering bodhicitta. The third makes both stable. The conclusion is meditating on the joy of oneself and others. The recitation for practicing it is: The supreme great vehicle, the swift path, the essence of Dharma, etc., is clearly stated. No matter which direction you measure from, the sky is endless. All of this is filled with the six types of sentient beings without any gaps. There is not a single one of those sentient beings who has not been my parent. They have done so countless times, bestowing immeasurable benefits and protecting me from immeasurable harm. They are all kind. All of them desire happiness, but because they are not skilled in means, they only create suffering. They are like madmen whose desires and actions are completely reversed. Generate compassion, feeling pity for them, as if your feet and heart are breaking and you cannot bear the pain. Now, I will quickly lead them out of the suffering of samsara and place them in the supreme, perfect, complete Buddha state. I do not have the power to do that now, so I will quickly attain the state of Buddhahood so that I can liberate all beings. For that purpose, I will cultivate the yoga of the profound path of the three vajras, generating a strong desire. In speech: May all sentient beings have happiness and the cause of happiness! Recite this hundreds of thousands of times from the bottom of your heart, and practice the visualization of giving and taking happiness and suffering in conjunction with exhaling and inhaling. Finally, rest in a state of non-objectification and dedicate the merit. The fourth is the purpose of the precepts: The precepts and aspirations have the four immeasurables. The eight white and black dharmas should be adopted and abandoned. Entering the path has the six perfections, etc. The purpose is: As it is said in the Ornament: The generation of bodhicitta is for the sake of others. One desires perfect and complete enlightenment. As it is said, the only seed for attaining perfect Buddhahood is the benefit of others, and the cultivation of enlightenment is indispensable. The fifth is the benefit: As it is said in the Sutra: Whatever merit there is in the mind of enlightenment, if it has form,
