The end of gathering is separation, the end of accumulation is depletion, the end of height is falling, nothing exceeds these four. The castle you built yourself, the wealth you accumulated, the relatives you associate with, etc., all must be abandoned. You alone, like a hair pulled from butter, have no idea when you will go to the next world. Therefore, do not be overly attached to this fleeting life like the setting sun in the clouds, and think strongly about whether to practice a Dharma that can fulfill the wishes of lifetimes. From the depths of your heart, even from the marrow of your bones, generate an uncontrollable fear and practice the impermanence of death. Third, examples of impermanence. The teacher Hero said, "The bodies of all Buddhas, adorned with excellent marks and signs, even the vajra body is impermanent, what need to mention sentient beings like a plantain tree without pith?" As it is said, like the progenitors of the world, Brahma, Indra, etc., and the accomplished hermits with miraculous powers who have attained samadhi and meditation, and even the noble Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats, ultimately abandon their bodies. Not only that, but even the emanation body of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, adorned with excellent marks and signs, like the vajra nature, must be abandoned, then what need to say about us ordinary people? Think in this way. Fourth, the necessity is that by practicing impermanence, you can temporarily enter the Dharma and become a helper in practicing the Dharma with intense diligence. Ultimately, it becomes the basis for attaining the clear light Dharmakaya, which is a clear instruction. Recite "The illusory body that is born has the nature of death," etc. Externally, there are no beings in the past who have not died. Internally, the beings we see die in succession. Secretly, the elements that make up the body disintegrate separately, so contemplate it as an illusion, and thereby measure your own impermanent lifespan with faith. Third, there are six aspects to contemplating karma and its results: generally showing the nature of cause and effect, classification, boundaries, weight, fruition, and showing the necessity of practice. First, all beings' experiences of happiness and suffering are said to arise from contaminated karma. The Hundred Karmas Sutra says, "Karmas are also diverse, therefore they create diverse beings." Just as sweet seeds produce sweet fruits, and bitter seeds produce bitter fruits, happiness and suffering

Since good and non-good are two kinds of causes, those who desire liberation must correctly adopt and abandon. Second, the classification is: there are ten non-virtuous actions, the five heinous crimes, the five near heinous crimes, the four heavy offenses, and the eight wrong deeds, etc., which are the main faults and are non-virtuous actions. The ten virtuous actions of abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions, as well as the ten practices of Dharma, the ten perfections, etc., are virtuous actions. Therefore, for these virtuous actions, even the subtle ones should be accepted without any contempt, because accumulating small things will one day become great things, just as water droplets gradually fill a vase. Even the subtle non-virtuous actions must be abandoned like poison, because their power of transformation is very strong, and even small non-virtuous actions can produce great suffering. Third, the boundary is: in general, the three doors of action that are motivated by the three poisons and harm others, along with their basis, are non-virtuous actions. The three doors of action that are motivated by a mind without the three poisons and benefit others, along with their result, are virtuous actions. In particular, all virtuous actions that are grasped by the wisdom of realizing no self-nature are uncontaminated virtuous actions, which are conducive to liberation; those that are not grasped by it are contaminated virtuous actions, which are conducive to merit. Fourth, according to the differences in objects and motivations, such as strength and weakness, non-virtuous actions have three levels: heavy, medium, and light; and virtuous actions have three levels: large, medium, and small. Fifth, the result is: heavy non-virtuous actions associated with contamination lead to falling into hell, medium ones lead to falling into the realm of hungry ghosts, and light ones lead to falling into the realm of animals, which is the result of complete maturation. Whatever non-virtuous actions one does, such as enjoying killing, one will be born there, which is the result of the action being in accordance with the cause. Short life and many diseases due to killing, etc., are the results of experiencing being in accordance with the cause. The result of dominance matures in the external environment, leading to being born in an inauspicious place full of thorns and where crops do not grow. Great virtuous actions associated with contamination lead to being born in the higher realms of gods, medium ones lead to being born in the desire realm of gods, and small ones lead to being born as humans, which is the result of complete maturation. The results of the action being in accordance with the cause and the result of dominance, etc., should also be understood in the opposite way to the previous ones. The result of uncontaminated virtuous actions is to bestow all the virtues of the path and fruit of liberation and nirvana.
