Abandon the clinging that arises from pride, and without falling into dullness or agitation, relax and let it be natural, cultivating it without any modification. Second, to stabilize abiding with the view of a Bodhisattva: the body remains in the vajra posture, without moving; speech ceases speaking; the mind abides in its natural state. Whatever external sensory objects appear, abide on them, observing whether it is independent of the thinker, and guarding it without distraction, so that all appearances are determined to be mind. Third, to liberate stability with the posture of a wrathful deity: the legs are placed in the stance of a warrior, the two hands extend threatening mudras. The eyes gaze into space, and the mouth recites Haha Hihi, Hum The mind is filled with vitality, and awareness is clear and lucid, so that one can recognize the weaknesses of the mind. The benefit of the gaze is that it is called the "hidden root, Kati crystal tube," which means that in the center of the hearts of all beings, there is a root of wisdom, and when it is closed, ignorance increases; when it is opened, wisdom arises. If the eyes are closed, this root closes downwards, causing ignorance to thicken. If the eyes are opened wide, making them bright, the root opens upwards, so that awareness can distinguish between purity and impurity, and clear, non-conceptual samadhi arises. This is what was said. Second, generating vipassanā, which is the actual practice of cutting through the essence of reality, and there are three aspects to it: the preliminary practice, which generates the unarisen reality through the union of śamatha and vipaśyanā; the main practice, which recognizes the arisen reality through three methods; and the subsequent practice, which enhances the arisen reality and trains it through three self-liberations. First, the preliminary practice has three aspects: cutting off conceptual thoughts, searching for the weaknesses of the mind, and examining the place of origin, dwelling, and destination. First, where is this thought of "I" located? Which of the three—body, speech, or mind—is it? Examine which is the most important. Second, searching for the weaknesses of the mind: are the three—body, speech, and mind—one or separate? If they are one, then just as the body and speech can be seen and heard, can the mind be seen and heard? Just as there is no mind, do the body and speech not exist? Examine this. If they are separate, then when the body experiences illness, etc., who is feeling it? Examine this. Third, examining the place of origin, dwelling, and destination has five aspects: examining the place of origin, dwelling, and destination in oneself, examining whether it is one or many, examining the shape and color, and the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality.

Examining the ground. Examining the two, abiding and moving. The first is: What is called mind, this quick-remembering, instantly understanding, knowing, seeing, where does it first arise from external objects like earth, stones, mountains, and rocks? Internally, from which of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases does it originate? In between, where does it abide, internally or externally? Especially, examine where it resides by separating each part of the body. Finally, investigate whether there is a source of where it goes in the end. The second is examining one and many: Is the mind being examined and the mind examining it, are they one or two? If there are two, then there must be something that wanders in samsara at the time of enlightenment, does it exist? If it is one, then when many good and bad thoughts arise, what is the reason for that, examine it. The third is examining shape and color: Is what is called mind something that exists? Or is it something that does not exist? If it exists, then it should be something with shape and color that can be seen with the eyes. Therefore, is it a shape like round, square, triangular, crescent, or oblong, or is it a color like blue, yellow, white, or red? If it exists, since you can see it yourself, everyone should be able to see it, should it be shown? If it is something that does not exist, then the one who thinks they do not know meditation and the one who thinks they know, this exists. Then, for something that must not exist, one should carefully examine what it is like. The fourth is examining the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality: When the mind itself looks at itself, when a feeling of bliss arises, are the cause of bliss and the one who experiences bliss different? When a clear feeling arises, are the cause of clarity and the one who experiences clarity different? When a state of non-conceptuality, free from thoughts, arises, are the cause of abiding and the one who experiences abiding different, one should know how to be aware. The fifth is examining the two, abiding and moving: When observing in this way, when abiding steadily without distraction, do thoughts move? If they move, do they arise without losing focus as before? If they move, is the abiding mind and the movement that is not it separate? If they are separate, then where did the abiding mind go? If the abiding and moving mind are one, then examine the way of being one. Without artificiality, observe with mindful awareness, and you will clearly see your own true nature. Second, introducing what arises with the three fundamental aspects, divided into three: Abiding is the adornment of the mind, knowing that scattering is the play of the mind, In the state of non-duality and equality.
