In the navel, visualize a white A-letter like a pearl, shimmering. Third, regarding the mudras: As mentioned before, focus on any of the five-family mudras, such as the vajra. Third, regarding holding the mind with wind yoga, there are three methods: the inseparability of wind and mind itself, vase breathing, and focusing on the three-syllable unborn vajra recitation. The first method is: Recognize and see all arising thoughts. At the moment of seeing, relax and let them dissolve. Focus on that. Alternately let thoughts arise and dissolve. Alternately relax in the unconditioned state. The second is vase breathing: With the seven-point posture, exhale three times to clear impure air. Press down the upper wind, draw up the lower wind. Press down like a needle below the navel, without thinking anything, remain still. Hold the breath as much as possible. When unable to hold, also be aware of the exhalation of breath. The third is the three-syllable unborn vajra recitation: Body posture etc. as before. When inhaling, visualize the blessings of the body of all Buddhas of the three times, gathering inwards in the form of a white OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: om). Press down the upper wind, draw up the lower wind, and merely accumulate it below the navel. Then, between the joining of the upper and lower winds, visualize the essence of the speech of all Buddhas of the three times, the red AH (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: ah) without inherent existence, abide in the clear and empty naked awareness. When unable to hold, at the time of exhaling, visualize the essence of the mind of all Buddhas of the three times, the blue HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हु, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: hum) radiating light. Visualize that they continuously emanate as nirmanakayas for the benefit of beings, and hold the mind. In short, when inhaling it is OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: om), when accumulating it is AH (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: ah), when radiating it is HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हु, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: hum), or you can also visualize it as the essence of the body, speech, and mind vajra of the Sugatas. Since there are twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths per day, the merit of completing that many recitations is beyond words. These are the meaning of what is said in the Secret Lamp: "Relying on objects of focus, non-objects of focus are greatly born." Second, there are three methods for practicing formless calm abiding: tightening, loosening, and alternating tightening and loosening. The first is: As before, look straight ahead at the sky in front of you. Without focusing on anything, tighten the mind. Alternate between abiding and resting.

O! Second, relaxation is: the body posture is as before, the gaze is directed downwards. Without meditating on anything, both body and mind are relaxed and abide naturally, this is rest. As it says in "Rest": "Relax as in an interrupted rest, think of nothing, abandon what is done in the mind." Third, alternation is: the body posture is as before, the awareness of tightening and the wide relaxation are alternated. The gaze is also focused left, right, up, and down, without distraction, these are all alternated. During these times, who is the one who tightens, the one who relaxes, the one who alternates? Is it the mind? If so, what does it look like, go and find it. Sometimes let it go wherever it wants, observe what it does. By doing this, just like taming a wild horse, the mind, which has the nature of discursive thoughts, will be tamed by skillful means. Second, the way of arising of Samadhi is: wisdom is liberated from being unusable, and abides wherever it is placed, not stained by dullness, drowsiness, and sinking, and possessing clarity and radiance, unwavering no matter where it is directed, the experience of joy and bliss arises. As it says in the "Pra-khrid": "Unwavering, clear like a sesame oil lamp, abiding between day and night." Its essence manifests as three: bliss, clarity, and non-thought. In essence, there is no grasping of objects, so it is non-thought; the appearance of the sense objects does not cease, so it is clarity; there is no pain of discursive thoughts, so it is bliss. Third, the method of recognizing and eliminating the faults of straying into wrong paths is: due to dullness, drowsiness, and weather conditions, or blocking the flow of thoughts, thinking that one is sitting in empty stupor, this is made by consciousness, being unaware and blank, becoming a helper of ignorance after becoming accustomed, being reborn as animals and unconscious gods. Dharma Lord Sakya Pandita said: "Fools meditating on Mahamudra, mostly go as the cause of animals." If one clings to the experience of bliss, the experience of clarity, and the three of non-thought, and fixes them in consciousness, one will fall into the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm, thereby accomplishing existence. Longchenpa said: "Even if the mind's abiding is good, it is still higher, falling into the formless meditations." Eliminating obstacles is: In one's own treatise it says: "Break the tumor of clinging to bliss, cut the net of grasping clarity, pull out the stake of clinging to non-thought, untie the knot of the experience of clinging to emptiness." On the one made by consciousness.
